Stayed October 2012 for 4 nights at the saver rate so got great value for money.Staff very friendly and helpful. Room spacious and modern including the tv.Excellent inhouse breakfast and the carvery at The Toby Inn next door was lovely.Plus point with The Toby Carvery was that although it had a waiting list,by staying at The Premier Inn,you could be given a hand held pager if you prefered to wait in your room as against at the bar.

We paid £172 for two nights midweek which I thought was very steep for a budget hotel and have stayed in 4* hotels for the same amount. The staff were great but we were not happy with our room and due to full occupancy there was not much they could do to help.

We were attending a family celebration at the Chigwell Hall former police club which was 1-2 miles away from Buckhurst Hill and we chose the Premier Inn because of it's previous reviews, price, location and position adjacent to a Toby Inn. There is ample free car parking space and we were greeted by the friendly and efficient reception staff and directed to our rooms, ground floor and first floors. There was some traffic noise in the ground floor rooms at 101 & 103 so if you are a light sleeper, be sure to take ear plugs, or ask for rooms at the rear.
The whole building was very clean and the rooms very spacious. The bathroom had a combined door with the toilet which was neat. We ate breakfast at the Premier on Saturday morning which was £8.25 for a full English or there was continental for £5.25 which includes choice of different cereals including freshly made porridge (5mins), mini cakes, toast, unlimited tea/coffee, fruit juice. The service was excellent.
By way of comparison, on Sunday we visited the Toby next door which also has breakfast on offer but it doesn't start until 9am and was basic in comparison. There was no cereal available when we visited but apparently it is available now, however, we had unlimited toast/jam, tea/coffee for £3 and a full English was £5. Further items are available and individually priced. Personally I preferred the Premier Inn.
The Toby also has a good selection of beers which we enjoyed during the day.
The local taxis are very efficient and only charged £6 to/from the venue.

Room Tip: ask for rear room if you are susceptible to traffic noise. Ground floor disable rooms also available

We stayed at Buckhurst Hill on 9 September so that we could attend the Paralympic Closing Ceremony in Stratford. We parked our car outside the Premier Inn early Sunday morning and headed straight to the Tube Station to make the most of our day in London watching the wheelchair marathons and seeing a few sights before the Ceremony in the evening - plenty of car parking spaces available. We rushed back late afternoon to grab a quick shower and change before heading out again and were very pleased that the check-in was quick and non-complicated as time was limited. Our welcome was warm and we were given a parking pass and allocated a room on ground floor at the far end of the building..far enough away from main hustle & noise. Room was of gd size, very clean and tidy with tea & coffee facilities. Showers were grabbed and off we rushed again to Tube Station which is approx 15mins walk away downhill (sadly uphill on way back!). We returned from our amazing evening just before midnight and encountered our only real niggle. The car park appears v busy and on two of the times we walked through it appeared to have groups of people meeting in cars (did not appear to be using Toby Carvery which is on same site). We entered the carpark at furthest point from PI and on walking through found a man acting suspiciously around our vehicle, his car door was open, interior light on and appeared to be standing & investigating our passenger door..on noticing us he quickly got back in his car, shut the door but did not leave the carpark..feeling v uneasy about leaving or vehicle overnight we moved it and luckily enough found a space directly in front of the hotel near the doors in a lit area which looked like it was then covered by a camera. I wld highly recommend parking your car directly in front of the hotel if there is a space available, or if not in a section visible to the road and well lit! Nothing happened thankfully but, I would not want someone else to have any problems if they could be avoided! On returning to our room to collapse we made good use of the extra pillows and the fan and had a good nights sleep. We did not have breakfast so cannot comment on this as needed an early start to get back to Somerset and work (boo hiss). Checkout was quick and handed over our room key and left with no fuss. So all in all we had a good stay which was good value for money. This PI is ideally located for excursions and shopping trips to London as it is nice and quiet and easy to find. also close to Epping Forest. Travel time into London probably 25/30 mins on tube but gives you best of both worlds at slightly cheaper price! We wld stay here again.

My friend recommended staying here as she had stayed here previously with other friends.

Well I was disappointed. It was good value for 2nights at £119 and the staff were friendly and helpful as could be and some of the best I have seen in a premier inn too! We also had a little disturbunce from next door at around 4 am int he morning from noisy men! However, the staff honoured their policy and were more than apologetic and refunded as per the premier inn policy with no problems!! The next night sleep though was fantastic and it was one of the quietest hotels.

The room was large and very comfortable and also the bed was lovely!

A great little find and handy for central London only being 30 mins on the cental line tube which we did on teh Saturday night!!

On bit of advice though if placing groups of people in rooms maybe the hotel should place these all in one set area so as not to disturb other customers.
I will be returning again. :-)
