This Pension is so close to everything that we barely needed the car. The only time we took it out was when we explored the Harz region.
Mrs Koch and her daughter were in charge of it all, welcoming us and showing us to our room. We had a triple room (Rm 6) two flights up, which was very spacious and comfortable. We only had hand luggage with us, so quite easy to use the stairs but if you have a heavy case, it´s a fair few steps. At least the staircase is wide enough that you aren´t squeezing through.
Breakfast was plentiful and always delicious. Boiled eggs, slices of tomato with basil, cheese and balsamic vinegar, different cheeses, cold meats, jams, honey, nutella and cut up as well as whole fruit. Plenty of tea and coffee as well as orange juice.
My only gripe and it was quite frustrating is that I had no wireless in my room. I deliberately book accommodation offering wifi and get so mad when I realise I have to sit downstairs in the breakfast room to access it. There was no offer of wireless by the owner or in the information booklet in our room. So I had to ask for access. Then there are two networks, I chose the obvious one which was the name of the Pension but didn´t get into it. The next day I thought I would try the less obvious one and sure enough got in with the passcode.
Other than that it was a wonderful stay and would recommend it if you have no need for wifi or don´t mind sitting in the breakfast room for it.

Room Tip: Don´t choose Rm 6 if you want wifi in your room.

We came to Goslar by bicycle and booked two nights at the Altstadt-Pension Koch on arrival through the Goslar Tourist Information Centre. Our decision was based on the reviews I read on Tripadvisor, and we picked very well - thanks to all who reviewed this place before me! This is a beautiful, nicely renovated pension with a courtyard/garage where bikes can be stored safely under the roof. The host was very friendly and gave us the room for the 'active' (top floor through a maze of floors and stairs). The room was reasonably sized and comfortable, and had a brand-new bathroom and nice décor. The breakfast buffet was fantastic and plenty for us hungry bicyclists. Although centrally located, the pension is on a quiet street, and I was amazed how quiet it was at night. I can highly recommend this place to anyone staying in Goslar.

Room Tip: As this is a beautiful historic building and interior, there will be stair climbing involved. If you...

We spent 5 days during our long weekend in lower Saxonia, and used this very nice cozy pension. It is clean and very inviting, bathroom had been recently renovated and nicely done. The owner was really friendly, polite and helpful in every single way he could. We had the breakfast included and it was truly fantastic.
We highly recommend this pension for the price as well as the quality and confort.

We loved staying at this little pension. The owner was very kind and polite, room was very clean and warm, bathroom looked bran new! What i really liked is that although they have renovated, the room still kept it's character and old architecture just like all the houses look like on the outside in Goslar. Breakfast was also excellent! The big old church with the snow on it was a beautiful view from our window! We also had everything near by so didn't have to walk far in the snow and cold.
