“Lovely hotel in a great location”
Reviewed December 9, 2011

As other reviewers have said, although not the cheapest hotel in Goslar, The space provided by the two rooms is worth every euro!
We stayed during the Christmas market and were not at all bothered by the noise as it all closed down at a reasonable time. The central location is great and it was easy to get to the sights in Goslar and also the station for a trip to other nearby towns.
Breakfasts were wonderful with a lovely buffet and friendly service.

The hotel, like the town, is a delightful place to stay. The rooms were great with a sitting room down stairs and the bedroom and bathroom upstairs. It is great for a couple who likes space when one can read and the other watch one of the two TVs. The location was fabulous. You wandered out into the main square or into the restaurant for breakfast or an excellent dinner. The receptionist was very nice and, as you will see below, also very helpful.

Breakfast varied considerably between the two days. The first day we arrived a half an hour before the end of service and only basic items we still available and the service generally was very poor. The next day it was as if we were in an entirely different restaurant. It was great!

Now for the downside. Our stay was between a conference in Berlin and returning to work and I NEEDED to have email contact. Although the hotel said this was available, you needed to go to an external provider and buy credit. I think this required a sim card in your Ipad which I did not have. Ultimately, with the help of the receptionist we were directed to a near by cafe, 'Tim's', which had WIFI. Hence, copious coffees were consumed in order to use the WIFI over the two days. A guest computer in the reception area would have solved the problem.

Room Tip: Get one of the 2-storey rooms: they're worth the extra.

We loved this hotel. We arrived in Goslar in the rain looking for a bed for the night on our way home and ended up staying here 2 nights. It certainly isn't the cheapest hotel on offer, but we thought it was excellent value, with the sitting area downstairs and bedroom upstairs (with a TV in each). The hotel is fairly new, so everything is still in good order, and the soundproofing between the rooms is good. Free parking, complimentary water, good breakfast and friendly staff. We had a lovely meal for a very reasonable price in the restaurant the second evening we were there. Goslar is a lovely town with a beautiful old centre, and convenient for outdoor activities in the Harz mountains.

The service here was cheerful and obliging without being intrusive. The accommodation is second to none - it is comfortable and clean and the idea of two storeys, one for relaxation and one for sleeping is wonderful for insomniacs! We had a hearty breakfast and we were not rushed to leave. Henrys is right in the heart of Goslar just a step away from the main square. Although it's pricey it was actually worth it and compares well with other accommodation on the sqaure - beating the others hands down on service and style. Unlike many other hotels, parking was free. Cannot think of a single negative thing to say!
