I stayed for 2 nights and my single room was comfortable and clean. The hotel is located close to the lake (300mtrs) and there is a bus stop across the road if you'd like to go to the town centre which is 5km away. There is a nice footpath by the lake as well if you are feeling energetic.
I ate at the hotel restaurant both evenings and the meals were to a high standard and very tasty. Overall I enjoyed my stay and I would happily recommend this hotel.

We had planned a quiet 3 or 4 days at the Bodensee. I did not want the hustle and bustle of major towns and when we came across the hotel and its famed restaurant, we were happy to make the booking.
The room was not as seen on website and was definetly not as nice for a classic room.
Perhaps I am spoiled but not having coffee facilities in a room surprised me in a room costing in excess of 120 Eur per night.
Other issues that were surprising:
- When my wife opened the wardrobe door, the door fell onto her.
- The shower screen door was also off its hinge.
Both were repaired immediately upon request.
However the cost of the room for two nights was over the top.
Next time I will go for the hustle and bustle and leave this choice for others.

Stayed for one night on our way to Italy. Very well maintained hotel, close to Friedrichshafen and a three minute walk to the shore of Lake Constance.
The room we were in was 215 and was big enough. Comfortable bed. Nice gardens at the rear to relax in. The al fresco dining area looked charming. The lady at reception very kindly offered to keep our motorcycles under cover overnight as the weather forecast overnight was for thunderstorms, and indeed it did!!!
Nice buffet breakfast with choice of cereals, fruits, cheeses, hams and cooked items. Sets us up for the day.

Would certainly stay here again. A very good base for exploring the area.

We could not sleep because of loud discussions between Germans in the TV room. Had to throw them out myself. There are no employees present in the night!! Called the reception, but a person in a call centre ellswhere could only report it to the management the next morning. What security????

Spent one night at the Hotel restaurant Maier, family of 3. Great hotel, quiet and comfortable rooms, good bathroom, helpful staff. Plenty of parking spots. very nice breakfast, buffet with a lot of things to choose from. We also had dinner at the restaurant inside the hotel, it was good, a bit pricy but all about local food (fish from the lake, local game, etc...) and excellent service. The only thing about this hotel that we did not like is the fact that there is not much to do around the hotel. You can walk by the lake but we thought it would be closer to Friedrichshafen, but it is too far to go there by foot, you will need to take your car. This being said, both Lindau and Friedrichshafen are not far away by car.
