After hearing a few comments in our town, we decided to try this restaurant when some members of our family came to visit us in early January. We booked the day before as they work only upon reservation and the first surprise was the warm and delightful decor of the dining room, especially being seated near the fireplace on a cold day. We decided to try the antipasto selection, followed by each of the two pasta dishes and one of us ordered the charcoal grilled pork and lamb. The antipasti were well received especially for the variety and some new dishes like the pork carpaccio served on rocket with pomegranate and cranberry dressing - excellent. Homemade cured meats, various crostini and cheeses with honey. The two pastas were meat filled ravioli served with walnut sauce and tagliatelle in a tomato base sauce. The ravioli were superbly cooked and we ordered an extra portion. The grilled meat was seasoned with a little too much salt (the person who ate this usually eats well salted food). We did ask for salad as we were not offered any side dishes in the beginning, this was followed by desserts, coffee and vin cotto. The house wines were very good as well as the vin cotto, so we purchased a few bottles to take away at very reasonable prices. We will definitely go again. Unfortunately the photos we took did not appear on our camera, maybe next time.
The owner spent a few minutes with us describing his philosophy of working organically; and he let us know that the tariff for the 4 rooms available (with private facilities) is 60 Euro per couple including breakfast and use of swimming pool. A real bargain for a place not affected by the recent earthquakes.
