You wouldn't come to Belvaux if you had found something affordable in Luxembourg City. Since we didn't, we booked a room for one night in this hotel. The town itself is a 20-minute drive away from the capital. The hotel is affordable and nice-looking. Our room was really neat and the bathroom was trendy (glass, glass everywhere). Good wifi in the room.
The restaurant served nice and expensive food and drinks. The service was deplorable. Our waiter made a fuss, and a face, when we asked for tissues (there weren't any on the table). A (local) couple arrived after we did and they got fawned over by this same waiter. While my wife, at this juncture, played the "[--] racist is doing this because we're brown!" card, I deftly parried her hand with the "he's an incompetent, colour-agnostic xenophobe" card. We were, probably, both right to some extent. The point is, this idiotic waiter left a taint on an otherwise nice dinner.
Another reviewer (in German) mentioned that they were taken good care of (welcome drink and what not) when they had to wait while checking in. We saw none of this fabled friendliness. Brusqueness and condescension were our welcome drinks.
You won't mind the stay terribly if you're here for just one night. That's the best that can be said for this hotel and this town.More
