We were staying close by and so only visited for meals or drinks, regularly as it was such a nice place. Nothing fancy, but the Special of the day we had which was curry and chips was just brilliant. Great, location, nice seating areas inside and out.

Family friendly. Free Wifi too.

As others have said, a magical location. Perched on the clifftop overlooking the beach. No need to move the car once you get there. Good members kitchen for people staying at the hostel. Showers & toilets are shared but perfectly adequate and plentiful.

Nice mix of hostellers with a mixture of families, groups and couples staying plus some Coast Path walkers overnighting.

There is a small bar & the hostel serves good meals. Here's the rub. The bar and cafe is open to the public from after breakfast right through to 11 at night. So the dining area and lounge are always stuffed full of people. Plus there are lots of outside tables.
I suppose one can't blame the hostel for taking advantage of their location but they have unfortunately become greedy. On previous visits the cafe was open to the public from after breakfast until about 5pm. Outside those hours it was residents only so in the evemings it was possible to get a seat to sit and eat, plus a really nice atmosphere. That has been totally lost and the place is poorer for it. Sadly we won't be going back.

Room Tip: Ask for the low numbered rooms (1-6) most of which have sea views. The sunsets are stunning.

On our walk we came over the headland mid-morning looking for coffee. There in the distance was a building boasting some umbrellas outside. Was it a pub or a cafe? Getting closer, as we crossed the sandy beach, it was the Youth Hostel. A stop for a bacon bap and a black coffee was obligatory. The cafe was full of athletic families heading for the surf or coast path. The atmosphere was refreshingly relaxed and the rather swift visit just what the doctor ordered! The staff were really helpful and accommodating too. In summer sun the position overlooking the bay must be unbeatable.

Come here often and it has always been good. But now its under new managment it was brilliant. And by the way they do the best surfers hot choclate! i came with family and freinds and we all really enjoyed it and we have all said how much nicer it is with the new staff. Its right on the beach and the beach is nice but really strong rips in the water.

Room Tip: Room 17 is such a big and it has a nice en suite

we arrived at Treyarnon after a long day at the Eden Project to find a warm welcome in a delightful hostel that was buzzing with atmosphere.
Treyarnon Bay is a lovely spot with little to spoil it's natural beauty and when we arrived it was all wild and windy, with surfers bobbing around in the sea - and the hostel bar/cafe was busy with people enjoying the good food and excellent quiet live music.
Our twin room with en-suite was extremely spacious and well ventilated and the hostel throughout was clean and cosy with everything you might need to self cater or dine in with wifi available in public areas - the kitchen was very well laid out so that it was easier than is often the case in small hostels to cope with lots of people cooking.
The team including the one toothed cat were friendly welcoming and outgoing, with a nothing is too much trouble attitude - altho' the cat did expect a bit of petting.
At night it was peaceful and nothing disturbed our sleep.
Would we go back - you bet! - it was at the same time a real get away from it all place and yet unintrusively lively and vibrant - the team I am sure are central to that experience - so thankyou!

Room Tip: book well ahead or travel out of season

My friend and I spent one night here whilst walking the Cornish coastal path. We had a twin room with ensuite shower and everything was fresh and clean. Ben was very friendly as were the rest of the staff and the whole place had a buzz about it - you could feel how enthusiastic they all were. We had an evening meal there and it was such good value and very tasty as was breakfast the next morning. This place deserves to do well. Would recommend it.
