Last night my husband and I enjoyed the most beautiful dining experience we have had in quite some time. The food and wine/cider was amazing. The serving sizes were just right, pretty generous compared to some resaurants. The wait staff were attentive and friendly. The setting is lovely. It was our wedding anniversary and we left feeling like we really had celebrated the occasion in style. Do yourself a favor and head out to Kellybrook Winery.

We discovered this gorgeous winery by way of a coupon purchased nearly one year ago. To be perfectly honest we almost didn't use it. It was quite a hike for us and on this particular day the weather was gloomy and we really couldn't be bothered. Also, I took a peep at their menu online and was already determined that we wouldn't be eating much simply because of the prices. So we piled into the car; me and my husband, our three and a half year old son and my mother-in-law because I needed somebody to share the bottle of wine with! One and a half hours later we arrived at what can only be described as a little pocket of paradise. It seems gloomy, cold and wet were the perfect conditions for enjoying this voucher because when we walked in, the restaurant was so warm and cozy with an open fire burning and very classic and sophisticated decor. It was lovely. And, when we saw what a gem this place was and heard the delightful specials, all our reservations went out the window and we ordered with carefree abandon. My husband had the seafood salad which he said more than once, was possibly the best he had ever had. My mother in law and I shared the chef's tasting platter for two which we rhapsodized over while we happily drank our wine, which was also excellent. Then we finished with the cheese platter which (along with the wine) was included with our coupon. We tried their signature apple brandy which my MIL happily cradled whilst I finished off the red. They even had a children's menu and we enjoyed some sides as well. Needless to say, we had perfectly splendid afternoon and look forward to our next visit. We left very happy and I made my way to the cellar door to purchase a bottle of their Shiraz and 6 pack of pear cider. The cider was very nice, refreshing, and the Shiraz was excellent (we cracked it open that evening!).

A beautiful location, lovely restaurant, delicious cuisine and excellent wine...what more could you want?

Recently returned to the Kellybrook Winery restaurant for dinner with a group of friends and like the first visit, we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The restaurant has a French provincial feel to it and so does the menu. It's not an extensive menu but seems to cover most options - certainly our party had no complaints. My wife had a steak and I had duckling - both meals were well prepared and presented.
As you'd expect, the wine list is very good, although like most wineries, way too expensive. Don't know why wineries can't manage to offer a 'sample' of their product at say $20 a bottle.
Warning: This is a popular spot for birthday parties, engagements etc. which also means it can get a bit noisy and therefore might not be the ideal location for a quiet, intimate dinner for two.
