My wife and I stopped here for a wedding anniversary treat.

We took advantage of a romantic weekend special offer. In this you received the room, plus dinner bed and breakfast. Also included were chocolates and champagne in the room on arrival.

We were extremely luck to receive a premium room in our package, and it was absolutely beautiful. It was extremely spacious, and filled with period furniture. The bathroom was fabulous containing a deep Jacuzzi bath, and a large walk in shower.

The view over the lawns was marvellous.

The food was excellent, the package we had allowed a choice from the table d'hote menu. Service was attentive, but not intrusive.

Breakfast in the morning was also good.

The Beamish Open Air museum is only 5 minutes away.

We had only two minor gripes. The TV remote had been removed from our room, and was given to another guest who had checked in earlier than ourselves. We were not able to control the TV set without the remote. Secondly, there was a door through to an adjoining room. We were unfortunate that there were two young and boisterous children stopping next door. The soundproofing on the door could have been improved.

Overall though, I was impressed with the room, the building and the quality of the food and service. I would recommend it.

Beamish hall is a gorgeous old country hall with bags of character. The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. The more expensive rooms were palatial and I would definately return. Food was average but I am a Food Technologist and very fussy.

The hotel was tastfully decorated for xmas I booked three rooms for our couples annual xmas bash all of the bedrooms were clean and comfortable but there was no sat.tv. The bathrooms were very new. We were welcomed with bag-pipes and some ladies in Elisabethen dress sang lovely carol,s. The service was okay, there must have been about 5 functions and the hotel was fully booked so they coped well there was a lot of foreign staff waiting on the tables the live band were good and the disco was,nt too loud. My party said it was the best xmas night out in a long time and would love to go back again. I would go for a short break with my family if the owners build a leisure facility.

lovely coverted house/museum

rooms excellent
food brilliant
service really good

really lovely stay - work conference

one drawback there was no lift and if you have a mobility prob you could have a prob as restaurant is upstairs, then more stairs! however it is worth the climb they are updating the place and i hope a lift is in their plans, but it is def worth a visit and if you planning an wayday or works conference think about them.

lovely lovely place would recommend and would go back
