Booked through Laterooms I got a room for £75 bed and breakfast. The bedroom was excellent with plasma tv and freeview channels, free internet broadband, lovely furniture and a new bathroom.
I even got a countryside view !
The breakfast was wonderful, with a hot plate, quality food and an extensive choice.
Staff couldn't have been more helpful, and this hotel is a definite for a return.

We stayed at the hotel Apr 4th to Apr 7th and found it very peaceful despite there being a wedding, we were in room 1 and never heard a thing. The setting is stunning and Beamish Open Air Museum was a treat even though it did snow and settled very quick. All in all a beautiful Hotel with friendly helpful staff and would return anyday for a tranquil break in glorious surroundings.

Despite appearing to be a serene, fabulous setting, there is a lot of noise at this hotel. Also, I understand their future plans will include an aweful lot of noise in the future. They are planning a lot of very very noisy activities which hardly fit in with the peaceful countryside retreat that they promote. Lets see if this comment makes it to the site!

I was looking for a hotel for a romantic night, in the countryside, yet not to far from a city (only 20 mins from Durham). When we arrived, the building looked magnificent and the entrance hall met up to our expectations. There were leather chairs and log fires burning, very romantic and the the staff were as welcoming.

We were upgraded to a honeymoon suite as there was a wedding party on the night of our stay, and there were no premier rooms available. All i can say is "WOW" - this would have cost £300 pnight for a city centre hotel . A four poster bed with huge TV and tea/coffee facilities. There was a door off the room which led into the bathroom (size of a double room) with walk in shower and double jacuzzi (like the ones you see in the Hollywood films).

We decided to make the most of the hotel and ate in the restaurant. Fantastic value (£16.00 for two courses) but the portions were enormous and the staff could not do enough to help. Breakfast was very good but not much choice in terms of veggie meat substitutes. Fruit, salad, beans, mushrooms, eggs , pastries, yoghurts and toast -enough to keep you going until afternoon tea.

The only downside of the stay, was the 10am check out .

All we can say is fantastic value for money, great hotel, friendly staff and an amazing hotel.

This is the second time that I've stayed at this hotel for business purposes. Having stayed in some dodgy places in other parts of the country over the past month, it was a pleasure to be back at the Beamish Hall Hotel again. The staff were all professional and friendly, the roaring log fire in the hall was gorgeous and the bedroom was so comfortable. Highly recommended.

we stayed here after being invited to a friends wedding. After attending a wedding previously and all the hassle of getting to and from a remote place we decided to splash out and spend the night and we wern't dissapointed, our room was well furnished and quite spacious with quite nice views. The staff are lovely and the breakfast had lots to choose from. would love to spend more time there and I'm hoping my husband reads this and takes us for our anniversary. lots to do if your not from this region durham is fab for sights and shopping and beamish open air museum is just up the road. Tanfield railway not far and you can ride on a steam train all day our son loves it. Beamish hall is a lovely old building with lots of character it even has its own resident ghost!! they have lots of special offers and for the accomodation you get the price is extremly cheap!!!! it cost us £75.00 for both of us to stay for b&b they do great romantic stop overs including champagne and dinner (this is what I want(just incase husband looks)) then breakfast.

At first glance, this looked a bargain - a beautiful country house, redone with beautiful rooms. There was a wedding as we arrived, but we were the other side of the building and could hear nothing.

This was a false impression though. As well as having a broken bed that creaked loudly every time we moved, the paper thin walls and ceiling allowed us to hear everything in the rooms around us. The room upstairs insisted on having the TV on loudly until the early hours, and when we asked reception (politely) to deal with it, they promised but did nothing. This happened both nights, and the TV was nothing compared to the sound of anyone having a shower or using the bathroom.

Our night's sleep, and subsequently or enjoyment of the day after was ruined. At least the second night we were going home the next day.

The breakfast was awful as well, and the service all round was poor. I don't like being negative about places, but this was a waste of money and I would not recommend it to anyone.
