On arrival our check in was quick and pleasant. Our deluxe room overlooked the front of the hotel and was spacious, clean and nicely decorated with period furniture.
The Stables bar and restaurant was decorated beautifully for Christmas. We had a delicious meal and my husband enjoyed trying the local beers from the micro brewery. The restaurant had a relaxed atmosphere and service was good. The menu had a variety of choice and used locally sourced ingredients.
Unfortunately we did not sleep very well due to noise from other guests, heat and a small bed which my husband could barely fit in.
Breakfast was included and had a reasonable choice. The breakfast room was nicely appointed but could do with a clean as there were empty party poppers lying on the floor and dust everywhere.
Overall I would recommend the hotel to people visiting Beamish Museum as it is literally across the road. Staff were mostly very friendly and the Stables bar and restaurant are good value for money.

Room Tip: Rooms on a higher floor are less noisy.

My husband and I stayed at the Beamish Hall Hotel a few days ago. We booked 3 nights. Approaching the Hotel I thought wow!! it's going to be lovely. We booked in, were not told there is a lift! and lugged our luggage up 3 lots of stairs!. Room was lovely, can't fault that except for some problems in the bathroom, an issue with the shower which causes the floor to flood when you use it. We thought we would try the restaurant The Stables. Food was awful. Roat beef like a bit of shoe leather!, vegetables cold! plates cold, Yorkshire pudding tasteless! No one asked us during the meal how our food was, but did at the end, probably because most of the beef was still on the plate and the rest. They got told what we thought. We decided to eat somewhere else the next 2 nights, we happened to pass a place on our return to the hotel. The Black Horse at Beamish, fantastic food!! will go back there! The first night and second night at hotel, sleep was disturbed by exceedingly noisey wedding guests! Also banging on our door when we were trying to sleep? The next day, we had been out all day and thought we would have a coffee in the bar lounge not sure what you would call the room. But were informed we could not have our coffee there are wedding guests would be coming in the hour and using it, so we were chased down to have coffee in the Foyer!. There is no where comfortable for guests to have a soft seat and a coffee or tea. No atmosphere at all! No cosey lounges, this hotel has not atmosphere, looks good from the outside, but inside what a disappointment. This hotel seems to be geared up for coporate meetings, Weddings, 3 whilst we were there, and numerous meetings. it was not over a weekend. People staying for a few days were forgotten about. I also take issue with guests and hotel staff standing on the front doorstep smoking and leaving all their cigarette ends all over the steps. Surely this is not a good image for a supposedly 4 star hotel. To fight your way through a gaggle hanging around on the dorrstep smoking. Also thought that the stairs and halls could ave done with a good hoovering! Breakfasts were fine, though toast could do with toasting at times!I would never go back to this place again! Sorry Beamish Hall Hotel but you have lost a customer!

Room Tip: We had a corner room , dual aspect , but noisey

Fantastic 2 night stay. Accommodation clean and in keeping with the period of the house. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We had access to Beamish Wild as part of our stay and had our own birds of prey show as it was mid-week and nobody else seemed interested... luckily for us! The falconers were brilliant as were the birds of prey. Actually no complaints at all! We will definitely go back.

Room Tip: Just ask the staff

The Hall is in an idyllic setting and the food at both The Stables Restaurant and at breakfast was absolutely lovely. Staff were also attentive and pleasant. Unfortunately that's where it ends! Despite paying more for a deluxe room for a one night anniversary treat we found ourselves tucked away at the back of the hotel next to the laundry room. I actually went back to reception to make sure that it was indeed a deluxe room (Room 1) and I was assured that it was.The rather small room was certainly not at the expected standard and despite having "antique furniture" the painted magnolia walls were marked and the carpet was stained in several places. There was no coffee table at which to enjoy drinks and the tap in the bathroom ran all night. My partner is also over 6ft tall and he couldn't stretch out in the bed without his feet pressing up against the bottom of it. The room appeared shabby and in need of a total refresh.
I left my comments on the guests comment card but also expressed my disappointment when leaving the following morning ( I couldn't fit everything onto the card).
The reception staff were lovely and said that all comments were taken very seriously and I would no doubt hear from someone. Unfortunately that has not happened which in itself is poor.
All in all a very disappointing experience.

We recently visited the stables restaurant which is attatched to beamish hall, the meal was nice, the service was average (i had to ask 2 different waiters for horseradish sauce) bring back the old restaurant inside beamish hall!! i believe this is used for afternoon tea now but not evening meals, shame :(

A brilliant venue; a lovely historical country house set in tree filled grounds. The facilities were great as was the service. Our break included breakfast and dinner & the menu selection was superb and the food quality was excellent. There is plenty to do both in the grounds or nearby. It's definitely worth a visit and we'll definitely be making a return visit.

Room Tip: Standard rooms are excellent & provide for all your needs.
