Half an hour from downtown Vernon, this mountain resort has everything you need for the perfect ski experience: more than a hundred runs to choose from, pristine, dry snow, a good ski school for all levels of skiers, and just enough shopping and restaurants to keep it interesting yet intimately small.

We've been coming to Silver Star for more than 10 years from the coast during school breaks, as my wife is a teacher. We find the combination of downhill and cross country trails to be great, and the conditions have been incredibly reliable for us at Xmas and Spring Break. The mountain is much smaller than Whistler, but the sun and powder days, which make for epic skiing, come way more often here. The double blacks on the backside as well as Caliper Ridge back there give me as much pleasure as I could possibly have skiing. And the combination of Silver Star and Sovereign Lakes next door for nordic is as good as it gets. Cute little town, but we generally hang out at the condo after skiing and aren't really looking for "action".

This is the standard that all resorts now have to beat.
The location (on top of a mountain) the variety of restaurants to suit all pockets and needs (including the Dutch bakery !) the customer service of all the staff (each one sings from the same hymn book to provide a great experience to the client) the ski school .. outstanding and above all, you come away with a not just a great experience but value for your dollar !
That must be a rare feeling when leaving a ski resort.
The one pass does all (Skiing, tubing, ice skating etc) idea is great and the accommodation and service was second to none.
Came in each day and emptied your trash and filled you will dish washer tablets, left packets of coffee etc, even when your not there.

Really impressed and my two boys (9 and 11 yrs) loved the variety and we loved the fact it was all safe. We parked the car when we arrived and went back to it when we left. Stored in the underground heated car lot.

Negatives ...... nothing !

Well done and keep it up.

The range of runs at Silver Star is terrific with comfortable cruisers to challenging double blacks. Rarely did we have to queue up for the lift and the snow conditions have been great on the two visits. Will be back next year.

For us this was the perfect place to combine skiing and relaxation. We were not seeking the party scene but rather a place to ski, read, drink red wine (and coffee) and chill out. This fitted the bill and met all our expectations. We will be back. There are a number of ski runs to suit any level of skier - downhill and cross country. There is also open air ice skating on the pond and tubing.
