A wonderful family mountain for all skill levels. So much to do and so many hidden runs to seek out. Great pow on those plus 20 centimeter days or easy groomed long runs. Always something different everyday. The drive is excellent and paved, regularly sanded, only a 20 minute drive to the top

DandyAndyOyama; Happy New Year! We appreciate your review, thanks for taking the time to post it. The drive from Lake Country and Kelowna is smooth and gentle - no more than an hour to the mountain with good coffee stops along the way. Here's to many more of those 20cm plus days in 2013. See you soon.
Best regards,
Marke - Silver Star Mountain Resort

We discovered Silver Star in 1996 and have been travelling there every year since then. We arrived at night and with all the lights thought we had arrived in Fairy Land. Daylight revealed the wonderful way the buildings in the village (don't think you could call it a town) were painted and when we talk to friends about Silver Star this is one of the points we make. In the last 15 years we have seen many improvements and expansions. The people who run Silver Star are dedicated and passionate and the new management seem to have plenty of energy. We're looking forward to the next 15 (and hopefully more) years. By the way, the skiing is wonderful!

My wife and I have been coming to North America to ski for 20 + years we have been to many different resorts but we always end up back in Silver Star. The snow is great the level of instruction is some of the best but above all the local people have invited us to join them on their mountain. We have made many friends and can't wait to get back this year

Steven1945; we really appreciate your review and the positive feedback. You're right, the snow here is spectacular but it's really the friendly local folk who make chairlift rides memorable. Happy New Year - we trust that another trip to Canada is in your plans for 2013.

I return to Silverstar every year, primarily for the nordic skiing but also to snowboard. It has the most amazing snow, lots of sunshine, short lines/never crowded, and great terrain. The nordic trails are out of this world wonderful, as is the grooming. It's like skiing on cotton balls! The dry air makes it always feel like spring skiing - you'll always feel comfy, no cold chill. The village is cozy and you don't feel like you have to have millions in the bank to be there. The staff are friendly and the rental suites are lovely and provide you with ski lockers, hot tubs, all that you need. There's a pile of great services to make the trip go smoothly from start to finish. Five stars for sure!

Anja; "It's like skiing on cotton balls" - that's the quote of the year and sums up the snow perfectly. Thanks very much for posting your review and for choosing Silver Star Mountain Resort. We look forward to seeing you back on the mountain in spring. Happy New Year!

Great skiing and be sure to take the evening sleigh ride out to the Wildhorsemen's Cabin for dinner served by Cowboy Stu and his crew. It was an outstanding experience in every way. Every aspect was authentic and the food was excellent. As a group or as a couple don't miss this winner.

GeneLake, thanks indeed for telling us about the fun you had at Silver Star. We'll pass your kind words on to Cowboy Stu and his team. We hope you spent some time out on the mountain too; snow conditions are sensational for this time of year. We hope to see you again soon.
