“One of the worst tapas bars ever”
Reviewed April 8, 2014

Really disappointed. I think they were trying to get rid of food since it was the end of the season. And scraps we got....for example, we ordered a dish that said "skewers of sausage and shrimp" . When it arrived, we almost couldn't believe it. Each of the THREE skewers ( a 12 dollar "dish" ) consisted of one tiny slice of sausage and ONE shrimp stretched out on the skewer. Also very disappointing was the oysters. 12 small oysters for 30 DOLLARS. We thought for that price on the menu, the oysters would be a nice size. Not. At. All. The only redeeming quality were the drinks and service...but definitely not worth the 160 dollars we paid for five tapas dishes and two small bowls of elbow pasta for the kids. To put this in better perspective, there were three adults and two small children. Will never be back but felt it necessary to warn families that this is NOT a place to enjoy a good meal. We left hungry and feeling totally ripped off. Try anything else at Big White--SAMs, The Woods or the Blarney Stone so much better.

I am horrified to learn of your recent experience at Globe which I can hand on heart assure you is NOT the norm. So that I can investigate this fully can you please let me know what night you dined with us, if you remember who served you, and if you mentioned anything at all to your server or the chef on the night itself? Then I can ascertain how and why our standard dropped so dramatically that night when you joined us? Please email my personal email at jude@globedining.com whenever is convenient for you.

“Consistently meets expectations”
Reviewed March 31, 2014

Once again the Globe exceeded our expectations. What a great way to dine out with 11 friends. Jude and her crew created a wonderful selection of Tapas for our group along with a great wine list to suit all budgets and tastes. This was our 2nd group visit to the Globe and certainly won't be our last. Its also a great place for lunch and one of the only restaurants that serves decent coffee! Although Big White has quite a range of restaurants to choose from there are really only 2 worthy of a mention.

“Great food, superb wine list”

Consistently great dishes throughout the menu. Appetizers great for sharing. Seafood specials on the menu were fantastic. Best list of Okanagan wines at Big White.

“Consistently great food and service”
Reviewed March 23, 2014

We have dined at Globe Café and Tapas Bar several time over the last few years. Breakfast, Lunch Tapas and Dinners have all been wonderful dining experiences. Especially like having gluten free options that are both delicious and reasonably priced. A great selection of beer and wine from around the world is a reflection of their name. Excellent coffee drinks and desserts are the perfect finish to any meal. The staff are friendly and helpful. They are attentive and anticipate guest needs but don't hover. I would recommend dining at globe for couples, singles, groups and families.

“Lived up to Local`s Recomendation”
Reviewed March 16, 2014

Friends with a condo at Big White recommended we try the Globe for dinner. We sat at the bar as it was a busy evening, a fortuitous choice. The bartender, our waiter, was very friendly and attentive, but not overly so. We thoroughly enjoyed a variety of small selections- perfectly done, "right-sized",full of flavour and innovative, accompanied by a very reasonably priced bottle of red wine. We`d been spoiled by a dozen years of in situ French/Belgian cuisinier`s quality, service and prices. However, our Globe experience was delightfully unfussy, reasonably priced, with a truly interesting choice of menu items, those of which we partook being excellent. We have tried most of Big White`s dinner options, and put the Globe as one of the top two.Highly recommended!
