My girlfriend and I stayed here in April 2012 in the Beach Junior Suite. It was our second stay on St Barths and this hotel was equally as nice as our first (Hotel Christopher). We arrived by ferry and the hotel chauffeur met us at the pier, loaded our luggage, then took the luggage to our room when we arrived. The hotel is located on a quiet, tiny road in Anse des Flamands and you might drive right by it as it doesn't look like a big fancy hotel.

Check it was very smooth and we were offered a glass of champagne, We received a quick tour of the property, which is not very big, and shown to our room. The junior beach suite was spacious and opened up right to the hotel pool with its own chairs and umbrella. There was a sofa, flat screen TV (we didn't use once), big comfy bed, and plenty of drawer and closet space. The bathroom was modern and had a separate shower and tub. There was a little plate of chocolates waiting for us on arrival which was a nice touch. I only wish there had been an ipod docking station to listen to some music.

The pool and surrounding area was new and well maintained. We didn't use it though as the beach was just steps away. This is a real draw for the hotel as not all St Barths hotels have beaches and fewer still have ones that are this nice and this quiet. Just off the pool is the dining area with a small bar. A free continental breakfast is served daily with some prepared dishes available at an extra costs. The selection was more than enough for me and the sitting area is quite nice with excellent service.

One of our favorite restaurants for dinner on St Barths is the Pa Cri, which recently moved right next door to the hotel. Like most restaurants on the island, it's pricey, but worth it. We had two dinners here and almost went back a third time. The hotel does serve lunch and dinner but the selection isn't as large as a traditional restaurant. They also had a guitar player on Friday nights who we liked, but I'm not sure about other nights of the week. There is a weekly fashion show at the restaurant/pool so if you attend, get seats early as they fill up quickly. La Langouste is a seafood restaurant a short walk down the beach, but not much else is in the area for dining options.

With the hotel being as small as it is, the beach never felt crowded. There are attendants to set you up with chairs and an umbrella and everyone always gets a place to sit. There is a small beach bar with servers going around to take your drink or food order. It's about a 10 minute walk to the other end of the beach and the views are terrific.

We also received a number of spa treatments which were all very good, albeit pricey. The spa is located in a separate building where the workout room is and doesn't have a lot of rooms so book early if you can.

We will definitely be going back to the island and it's a toss-up right now as to which hotel we'll return to. You can't go wrong with either.

The room had it's own fenced in swimming pool. Topless sunbathing made easy. There was availability for the room to open to another villa, there fore 2 couples or a family could have their own private oasis. A walk to the lagoon was only through the grounds of the property, which is not far.

I've stayed at all the best hotels on island and without a doubt IDF is perhaps the best and most loved hotel with spacious and well-designed rooms and suites, all with some kind of outdoor space. I prefer the beach junior suites, located near the pool, but have also stayed in rooms in the garden, across the street and more quiet. You really feel like you are part of a family instead of a hotel guest, even after 2 or 3 stays. A friend stayed with his family in the Flamands Villa (3 or 4 bedrooms, I think), which has direct beach access and the villa is to die for. Lunch is the place to be seen whereas dinner is quiet and romantic. Good for couples, families (best beach with services) and guests are upper crust of mix of NY'ers/Euro/S American...but remarkably without any pretention - how refreshing! Expensive, but you get what you pay for.

I can usually tell within minutes of walking into a property if I’ll want to return someday. This is one of those hotels for me! Simple structures with very large and beautifully appointed rooms (both sea facing and garden surrounded) that meander out to the main three-tiered deck with steps onto one of the island’s most gorgeous beaches (Flamand). Sultry music plays at the right volume, at the right times of the day.

Wow. Everyone says Eden Rock is the place to go... they obviously have not been here. Elegant, sophisticated and charming property that is has everything. The beach is beautiful white powder sand, leading to crystal blue waters, with some decent wave action to add to the wow factor. Bar service is available on the beach, as well as at the pool. We ate lunch at thier restaurant, and the food was amazing, Michelin quality. We also had the pleasure of dining near two "major stars" that out of respect will not name, but if they choose to stay here, who wouldn't ? The rooms were simple elagance, with amazing bathrooms and views. If you are planning a romantic getaway, special family event or destination wedding, this is the place. We met Elodie the sales director, she couldn't have been more hospitable and gracious, and would highly recommend her to plan any special occasion at this 5 Diamond resort.

Room Tip: beach view suite with the infinity edge pool is a must
