The good - excellent swimming pool and hot tub. Decent restaurant. Friendly staff.
The bad - dingy cramped rooms, small double beds, ridiculous bathroom
The ugly - the carpet...ICKY. very very ICKY. Anyone who would go barefoot on those suckers is begging for toe fungus....gross

The geniuses at Air Canada screwed up our flights to Tampa so they had put us for free at the "Quality" Inn for the night when we were supposed to be watching the sun set on the beach.

My review would have been more stinging if I had to pay for this room.

Stayed at the Quality Inn Airport Halifax after a long days flying from Calgary with a stop over in Toronto. Arrived at 2230, quick baggage pick up and took the hotel shuttle to the hotel.(5 min drive) The restaurant/lounge closes at 2300 so decided to grab a quick drink before heading to our room. This hotel had a "stay, park and fly deal" of 129.00 (which included one weeks parking if you were flying out of Halifax) which was about 20.00 less than the best rate I could find on line. Check out was at 1200 which was the time we had to be back at the airport to pick up our rental car.
Remember in Nova Scotia there is a 14% HST plus a 2% occupancy tax so 129.00 is really 151.00.
The hotel is in the midst of renovation. We were in room 228 so had to walk down a long dcorridor that was stripped down to bare floor, masking tape on each room saying "ready to paint, or ready for furniture"
Room 228 was already reno'd.
Pros: Nice layout, dark granite shower walls, separate sink and vanity. Bed and bedding excellent, great pillows. A small table with 2 chairs and a desk for the computer and a great desk chair.
Small coffee maker with a good supply of coffee, decaf , tea and hot chocolate.
Also by the front desk there were urns with coffee etc. Cream, flavoured cremo, muffins and fruit 24 hr/day.
Complimentary local paper and free local telephone calls.
Cons: No working fan in the bathroom. Shower pressure poor. Small water leak from base of the toilet ? condensation?. The light switch for the bathroom was out in the hallway on the lt side of the door but the bathroom door handle was on the right (awkward) TV volume on the remote didn't work.
Had breakfast in their restaurant the next morning usual eggs, ham/sausage, homefries and toast. They did have homemade strawberry or raspberry preserves. (13.00 each) The staff were friendly and helpful.
After breakfast we hopped back on the free shuttle and headed over to pick up our rental car.
I would recommend this hotel for someone who is looking for a place close to the airport for one night but as it is a good 20-30 minutes out of Halifax I would not recommend it for anything else.

On Sept. 4 - 20, 2010 we left our 2000 CHEV SUBURBAN there and unpon our arrival we went to get our vehicle and discovered it MISSING. To this day we are without same and very hurt and disappointed in the service that brought us to stay at this hotel. There is no other upset feeling after being on vacation and flying back with an excess about of luggage to another province and discovering you have no longer any personal transportation available. IF ANYONE HAS ANY INFORMATION ON SAME PLEASE CONTACT RCMP.

2 big pools, one indoor and one outside. Used and enjoyed both. Restaurant and bar on site. This is a good thing because there is nowhere else to eat in the area within walking distance. Drink and food specials worth taking advantage of. Free 24 hour shuttle to/from the airport which is 5 minutes away. If you want to enjoy the city of Halifax, do not stay here, but if you need a nice hotel that is close to the airport, this is the one for you.

We arrived at the airport about 10pm used the freephone to call the holtel and the shuttle arrived within 5 minutes. Same when we left the following morning at 5.30am - completeltymhassle free and the driver loads the luggage onto your trolley - what more can you ask. Hotel room clean, bed comfortable, check out done in advance so no waiting around and coffee is available 24/7

I booked the hotel a couple of days prior by phone. We stayed one night and I had meetings in one of the rooms there the next day.
We arrived at 9:30 in the evening after driving in an absulute downpour for over two hours. I travelled with my young grandson and daughter in law who came along for the trip.
We were greeted cheerfully by one of the airport van drivers holding open the lobby door.
Check in went smoothly and our room was on the third floor. The room seemed strangly laid out. Bathroom a little cramped, but seemed recently upgraded with nice granite in the shower and around the sink. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. We headed to the pool right away and were glad to see we had it to ourselves. It's a small pool, quite deep. The hot tub was nice. It also had an exercise room which we did not use.
The next morning, we headed down to the restaraunt. Breakfast is not included in the price, but there is always free fruit, coffee and muffins on hand in the lobby. I was very surprised at the quality of the offerings in the restaraunt. Not being a breakfast person, I ordered a continental with fruit and toast and was pleasantly surprised at what emerged from the kitchen. A good variety of fresh fruit pleasantly arranged on a large plate with good toast. Colleagues ordered a variety of other breakfast offerings and they were also impressed.
I requested a late checkout and front desk staff extended it til two, which was great for those who travelled with me.
Meeting room was pleasant and the food at the meeting was good. Staff were friendly and prompt to bring in food and clean up. Check out went smoothly.

We had to overnight in Halifax last week before catching our flight out the next morning. We chose the Quality Inn as it was near the airport (with a complimentary shuttle!) and wasn't as expensive as others in the area.

Check in was good - we had only reserved our room a few hours prior. Our room was on the ground floor. Staff seemed friendly.

I wasn't impressed with the rooms. It was quite small and in need of a renovation/update! The shower and toilet was in the 'bathroom' with the sink and mirror across the hall with the coat hangers. The shower area smelled old and musty and was very tiny! No fan for circulation either.

The walls were scratched, chipped and looked old. The bed decor was floral, quite old and worn looking as well. The carpet was ok.

It was an ok place to stay for a quick sleep before catching the next flight, but if I had to find a hotel in the area again, I would not choose here.
