I stayed at Bag of Chapel while traveling around Victoria and from the the moment I checked in until the moment I left I had an amazing, relaxing and fun time.
This hostel is all about the people, it's not the typical hostel where everything is about making money of people.
The hostel is run by two chilled and nice guys: Aaron and Josh and it is cleaned daily by a lovely lady called Kelly. They are all super easy to get on with.
When I checked in Aaron was absolutely lovely, I had to pay my $10 deposit for the room and locker keys and then after a few hours I went back to reception to get my plate, my soup bowl, my mug and my cutlery so I had to pay another $10 deposit (in case you break them of lose them). Once again Aaron in reception was very nice, He didn't have any change and give them to me anyway and just said to give him the deposit once I had some change.
I didn't see him for a few days after that, when I saw him again and gave him the money he was cool with that. No drama.
Every one staying at the hostel was very nice, chilled and having a good time. Everyone was friend with everyone.
We never kept the room doors locked cus the atmosphere was lovely and we all trusted each other.
At night time no one looks after the hostel but they have cctv which gets checked all the time, so if you are thinking of staying there and take advantage of that you better look for another place. This place is for people who want to have a good time, relax, have a good holiday, make new friends and share stories.
The hostel has a back yard with a big table, chairs, bbq, an area where you can park your bike and an area where you can put your clothes to dry after you do your washing. The back yard gets cleaned daily too.
The kitchen is very clean too and it is open 24/7 (which it doesn't happen in hostel I have been before). So if you want to cook at 4am you can. Absolutely great.
There is a chill out area with a huge couch, big tv, dvd's, play station and books which you can borrow.
Windsor is lovely funky area, packed with with bars, grocery shops and cool tattoo shops too.It is also very close to the train station and to trams.
I wish every hostel was like Back of Chapel and I really recommend you to stay there. During my stay I saw people leaving and going to other hostels but they were ALWAYS coming back and checking back in.
Thank you for everything.
