“Beautiful property, wonderful manager”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 24, 2013

Came here with some girlfriends during the truffle fair. Proximity to everything was really great so the location of the hotel is perfect.
The grounds are absolutely beautiful and although there is a pool with sauna/jacuzzi we were too busy drinking and eating to get to enjoy it all.
Rooms are quite large and comfortable, and the breakfast is simple but delicious with two tables having a spectacular view overlooking the valley.
Also, I very much enjoyed the decor of the hotel and the lounge area.
However, I think what struck me the most was Silvio, the wonderful manager of the hotel. We encountered a bit of an issue the first night that left our group a little unhappy but he really was sincerely apologetic and did everything he could to make it better and he did an amazing job! We were so impressed by his very proactive "above and beyond" attitude and genuineness in making sure all his guests are completely taken care of. Also, his very extensive knowledge of the food and wines in the region is very impressive so make sure to pick his brain.

The rest of our stay went very well - I would definitely like to come back and stay during the spring.
Tip: Make sure you book wineries in advance as sometimes they fill up and ask for confirmation of the booking.

This hotel has a very good location if you plan to visit the vineyards and famous surrounding villages like Alba, Asti, etc. It. mixes luxury and rustic at the same time. The food is great (it has a one Michelin start restaurant). It is not a big hotel, which makes you feel kind of at home. The rooms are not very big, so do not bring to much luggage. Also, it is about 8km (5 miles) from Alba, which means that you have to take a taxi ir car to commute. But it is really worth it.

This was our third trip in as many years and our expectations continue to be met. The hotel nestles just below the pretty village of Benevello, about 20 minutes from Alba. With stunning views of the Alps in the distance (on clear days), the hotel is a marvellous place to relax and unwind and is a perfect location in the truffle season. Service is unfussy, efficient and charming, the rooms are spacious and comfortable and the food delicious. The bar is a great place to relax on chilly days and the courtyard, restaurant terrace and swimming pool perfect when the weather is warm. The Michelin starred restaurant maintains a consistently high standard although a little extra variety would be welcome. Breakfast is self service with a good and varied choice. The wine list has a relatively extensive selection of local wines, all reasonably priced.

Room Tip: If you do not like stairs ask for a room with a view and direct access to the courtyard

We stayed for three nights over the August bank holiday weekend and had a brilliant time. We had dinner in the gourmet restaurant on the first night, which I highly recommend. Further, all the staff go out of their way to be helpful. The winery tours they organised were excellent.

This hotel is located close to Alba in the hills of Piedmont and althouh getting there takes a while, the trip is well worth it. We went as a family of four in July. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful and Silvio the hotel manager is close to amazing. No porter, he helps out, wine-tasting you say, then he gives a very competent assessment and points you in the right direction. That hands-on approach is what makes this hotel really good.
The rooms are very comfortable, we had one with a view of the hills which was very nice. Breakfast is very good, and although it is true that there are no hot dishes, there is so much other selection that we didn't miss it. As for the restaurants, the Easy restaurant has good food but I would not recommend going there becaue it is in an awkward room without a terrace which in summer is not really convenient. The main restaurant is excellent, perhaps a bit pricey but the quality and creativity of the food are worth it. I am not so up on my PIedmont wines, but the ones we had after consulting with the staff were all very good.
All in all, we found this place to be a great starting point to discover the Piedmont and would definitely come back again

Room Tip: If you have rooms 108 and 109, they have a great view but early in the morning you might hear some c...

This is a fairy new hotel located in the Piedmont wine country. It is about 20 minutes drive from Alba, but the road has quite a few hairpin turns which can be dangerous in the dark. Italian drivers have little patience but don't get pressured into speeding on this road. It is otherwise ver convenient if you are visiting Barolo, Barbaresco, Monforte D'Alba, Castiliogne Falleto etc.
The view from the hotel is wonderful. The area is quiet although there is a soccer field just next to the property. We ate in the gourmet restaurant on our first night. I agree with one of the reviewers that they try too hard. The presentation of the dishes was beautiful, but the cooking is only mediocre. However, the price is not outrageous, and the wine list is quite extensive and very reasonably priced. In fact, I have compared the prices of a few vintages from well-known Piedmont producers with lists from other restaurants in the area and also in Milan, and the prices are most reasonable here. I chose a few older bottles from their internet wine list before arrival, but none of those are available any longer. They should therefore renew their internet wine list. Although there is a recent string of outstanding vintages from the area (2004, 2006, 2007), these are still too young to enjoy now as these wines are very tannic in their youth.
The rooms in this property are nicely appointed and the bed was comfortable. Although there is no hot food available for breakfast (except the cook yourself boiled egg), the breakfast is actually excellent. The quiche is the best I have ever had. Overall a very enjoyable stay.

The service in the hotel is excellent, Silvio was instrumental in making our stay superb. He coordinated our Michelin Star dinners in two restaurants, organized one of our days by arranging Vespa rentals, great adventure to explore those beautiful roads filled with vineyards and also arranged for a wine tasting.
The views from the hotel are beautiful and the service could not be better.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view.
