A very good place for famalies with young children the cottage is good for up to 5 people . With all range of activities in the kibbutz - as a small zoo, rangers and tom cars trip around the area and visiting the farm animals.and swimming in the local pool.
Also good location for lovely trip at north of the golan heights .
The rooms are ok, basic.
Spent just one night there, in my effort to see as much Israel as possible. A very nice kibbutz, a well thought-through accommodation for those willing to experience the Golan. Everything was adequate, bed comfortable, facilities in a good shape. Not luxurious, but very adequate for most needs, good for families or couples. There is a free breakfast, but you would need to pay for a dinner at a Wild Westish restaurant featuring Clint Eastwood's picture and comparable ambiance.
If you want to take a Jeep tour, I personally recommend Ilan with the NO OTHER LAND tour company. He spent so much time with me that I feel guilty. We saw so many things, half of which I am sure were not on the approved list. He really takes his job seriously, and he makes a great effort to explain to you what and why is happening in Golan Heights. He is very knowledgeable and his English is perfect. He customizes the trip based on who is riding with him, i.e. a family of four will not have the same itinerary as two hardened 20-something backpackers with an appetite for adventure.
We stayed at the holiday cottages and had a very nice experience.
The "wooden villas" have a living room, a bedroom and a kitchen.
Also a bathroom with a jacuzzi. Though not fancy, everything is spotless and well kept.
The beds are very comfortable, and the linen is of very good quality. The rooms are well equipped. Breakfast is very good. The location is great, with many places to visit in the vicinity.
We had a family weekend here in late September. Per our request they arranged three cottages right next to each other and fairly secluded from the rest. The rooms were spacious, well fitted and clean. Beds were very comfortable, jaccuzzi worked well, as did the mictowave and fridge. The lawns and gardens were lovely and you can't beat the fresh mountain air! The location is perfect for touring the Golan. Breakfasts were very good and they took special care to seat our large party all together, despite the fact that we always went to eat at peak crowded times. Our neighbors were rather noisy (decided to have a karaoke evening in the middle of the guest rooms garden) and when we compained the management were very sympathetic and took immediate action.
we had a very nice stay in that kibbutz near Golan hights.also near that a very lovely coffee shop named "Coffee Anan" on the higth near the kibbutz.we had every morning a good breakfast .service was good.not far from the kibbutz you can visit "Ein Zivan" kibbutz with a chocolate shop.and "Wassat " junction with many shops and many other attractions.4 nights we stayed and enjoyed.
We stayed at Merom Golan for 2 nights. The location was very convenient for exploring the Golan - not far from Tel Dan, Banias Falls, Yehudiya, etc. Reception misinformed us about the restaurant on Merom Golan though - we were told it was closed 1 night for the holiday, but it was closed for two and a half days! This meant we drove all the way back to Merom Golan the second night and had to turn around and head back to Mas'ade (Druze village about 15 minute drive north) for dinner for a 2nd night in a row. So that was very annoying, and reception should be better informed about when the facilities are actually open. The room itself was quite basic and had everything we needed. Two movie channels on the tv. And for breakfast there is a very large buffet with great selection. The pool is massive and indoor. Overall, a very good deal for our money as most kibbutzim in northern Israel can be very expensive to stay at!
