“A moving experience for our group”
Reviewed November 11, 2013

We visited as part of our Pilgrim tour with a group of 50 people. About half of us wanted to be baptized/re-baptized by our pastors travelling with us. The process of changing into the provided robes (don't forget your bathing suit!) was a little chaotic, and we kept all of our belongings with us. Our group had our own area with a viewing part and the winding path into the river. It was a wonderful experience for us, with singing and scripture reading. We were able to shower and dry hair and dress in a group setting. The water was cool, and the setting was lovely. Glad I did it, and I just avoided the tourist parts of the place.

“A Commercial Baptism Site”
Reviewed November 2, 2013

Yardenit is a baptism site located along the Jordan River in the Galilee region. The site is located south of the river's outlet from the Sea of Galilee and has eucalyptus trees and natural river flora along the banks. It is a pleasant spot to visit. There is a large, and overpriced, souvenir store, places to eat and restrooms. There are a couple of sets of stairs that give access to the river. If you go down to the water you will see it is quite murky and inhabited by different fish, including fairly large catfish that will come right up to your toes. Just keep in mind that this is not where tradition says Jesus was baptized but a site established by the Israeli Ministry of Tourism.

“Yardenit”
Reviewed October 28, 2013

Loved the fish that came to nibble my feet when I stepped into the Jordan River. The place is organised but their gift shop is more expensive than any other place we visited in Israel.

“Part tourist trap part religious site”
Reviewed September 21, 2013 via mobile

Fun place to visit, lots of souvenirs to buy. Also if you are religious great place to see where Jesus was baptized, and fun to watch others get baptized

“Smooth trip to Jordon”
Reviewed August 10, 2013

We just return from our tour to Jordon, we spent very pleasant times, our trip was smooth and enjoyable, we visited Al-Petra and dead sea and many areas, It was very nice experience for us.
We ate in the Jordon Pond House, they served famous popovers with butter and strawberry jam and also a bowl each of fish chowder which was very filling.
It is an absolutely beautiful setting and we will hopefully have a meal outside next visit and plan to hike around Jordan Pond. You cannot visit Acadia NP without a stop at Jordan Pond Restaurant, rain or shine .
