An absolute delight to arrive at this magnificent and well kept house and garden. Room and bed were excellent, tastfully decorated and the hosts were a warm welcoming and enthousiastic couple. It would have been nice to spend a couple of nights here in these peaceful surroundings.

We visited Chapelwick back in 2008 (Tripadvisor doesn't allow me to go back that far) and we had a lovely time with our young family (4 yrs & 6 yrs). Raewyn and Rod are wonderful hosts, warm and friendly and they were so good with the kids.
Rod took them out to feed the calves and other animals, and Raewyn was most willing to have them potter around her kitchen. We were there over Christmas and felt part of the family for meals, although we also had the option to do our own thing.
The estate itself is really beautiful, and I'm sure has continued to develop since our stay, as R&R had lots of plans for it. It's a safe, large space for children to explore and romp around. The pool was great on the warmer days and the nearby beach had lots of rock pool exploring potential.
If you're after a warm, family-friendly country stay, this is definitely the place for you!

Lovely historic homestead with an old world laid back charm to it .
Raewyn & Rod make wonderfull hosts , organised but not rushed .
Hearty & tasty food & stay at least a couple of nights in the luxurious & tastefully redecorated rooms because a meal at the Porongahau "pub" is not to be missed either .

A great way to get away from things & have no interuptions whilst you talk products & strategies .

Just check the best route to access Chapelwick by - come in from the north Napier /Waipuk & the view will wash away your cares .

We have stayed at Chapelwick on two occasions, will be back for more relaxing stays. Rod and Raewyn are the perfect hosts, friendly and go out of their way to make your stay an enjoyable one. Lovely breakfasts and also evening meals. Very affordable and the rooms are simply the best.
