We recently stayed in number 3 as a group of three couples. Aside from confusion with regards to parking which we had been under the impression of having a facility for one of our cars, the chalet and experience was very good. The location is perfect, close enough to bars and restaurants both at the upper end of the resort (Frog & Roast beef, Panda, John's Scandinavian etc.) and to the main centre but not so close as to be rowdy at night. Direct access onto the slopes and although not quite ski-in, close enough.

The accommodation is typically alpine with lots of pine and winter sports memorabilia adorning the walls, bedrooms are comfortable and the bathrooms are more than sufficient. Number three has a total of 8 beds across three bedrooms; a double and a twin on the second floor and four single beds in the attic space. There is a bathroom; separate shower room and separate WC on the second floor with the living accommodation; open dining/lounge with open fire place and well equipped kitchen and WC on the first floor. The ground floor has a good sized entrance hall allowing you to change out of kit without heading upstairs and the fantastic addition of a boot drier for several sets of boots. There is also a sauna with separate shower and this was the single best thing about the chalet, perfect way to sooth away the aches and pains of a day's skiing and snowboarding!!

There is a Carrefour supermarket directly opposite and the tri-weekly market is only a 5 minute walk away.

Where the Lombarde really excels is the view framed by the large windows, its breath taking to watch the sun rise and fall over the mountains through the window!!

One tip if driving is to confirm the parking status before arrival; as a no car resort, there is no parking on the road outside Lombarde (or anywhere else for that matter), however, the main undercover car park costs approx. £60 a week and can be booked before arrival to avoid the disappointment of parking in the car park 2 which is much further away than P0, P1 or ValThoParc.

You cannot immagine a better location in Val Thorens. There's a supermarket in front of the residence. And if you take the elevator on the other side of the street you will find upstears one of the best snowboard shops in the resort. The slopes are under your window and the main place Caron with all the shops, restaurants and bars is just 3 minutes walk away. The flats are clean and have a great view over the valley. The only thing I would recommend the owner to change is the poor internet connection. Only two devices connected at the same time are allowed and this is considerable disadvantage especially if you are more than two people in a flat.

Thank you for review !
We are sorry about Wi-Fi, Val Thorens being a high altitude resort, we are not able to have a higher speed internet access as cities'network.

My team and i hope to see you next year !!

We stayed here as a group of 8 (4 adults and 4 kids) for New Year holidays in December 2013 -- January 2014, and it was not for the first time, which already says a lot: we do like this place and we look forward to coming again next year. Excellent location in the village, ski in ski out, spacey (and renovated!) rooms, well equipped kitchen. Bottle of champagne and box of chocolates on arrival -- wow, that was a nice surprise. Very responsive staff. We thought we needed another saucepan -- called the reception and it was delivered same day. Kitchen sink choked up -- the plumber arrived within an hour after the call and fixed the problem. What I would suggest to improve -- to allow more than 2 connected devices on wifi (would make sense in a 8-person apartment, we were fighting for wifi).

We stayed here as a group of 8 (4 Adults and 4 Kids). There was loads of room and the kids loved all being able to sleep in the attic bedroom. Some of the furnishings were looking a bit tired, but everything worked. The kitchen was well equiped and made for easy catering. This is a Ski in Ski out accomodation which makes life so much easier. I would recommend this property to groups looking for good quality accomodation, but not wanting to break the bank.

We stayed here as a group of 12 (10 Adults and 2 Children) on Easter Week 2013.

We were greeted by a good size chalet with enough space for everyone.

The kitchen was well equipped and a reasonable size for 12 - lots of big pots and pans which came in handy self catering for 12.

The Rooms are of a slightly difficult configuration for more than 2 couples but the compromise was the location and basic needs of a chalet for a sports holiday!

Quiet location, Plenty of Hot Water for Baths and Showers, Right on the Piste ("We can Ski to Ski-school!"), Log fire, across the road from "The Shop". Access with Van good. Perfect for a Value for Money accommodation.

Beds are made on arrival so no faffing about on the first day wrestling duvets and Towels are changed midweek. A small cleaning kit is provided but it might be a good idea to take basic communal provisions...

A few parts of the decor could do with updating - our sofa had seen better days and things are starting to look shabby - we weren't expecting luxury, just functional and this fitted the bill.

Only a couple of gripes - The grill tray didn't fit in the oven and there was only one oven rack and the kettle was a little on the small side. The pressure on the dishwasher wasn't good enough to get things really clean but it was ok.

Room Tip: Make sure you don't mind sharing with others! Great for Families. Triple room is on the ground floor but has own shower - probably not ideal for Kids.
