“Awesome, totally exceeded expectations”

We booked into the Levanna, having seen it in the Inghams brochure, but we wanted to get the Eurostar so booked with the hotel direct.

We knew Tignes wasn't to pretty, but that the snow was reliable, and we were absolutely right on both counts, but the Levanna was by far the best place we have stayed whilst skiing, and we've done most of the key places in Europe.

The hotel is beautifully built in the Alpine style, unlike some of the 70s monsters on the other side of Le Lac. It's right next to the piste, proper ski-in, ski-out. We felt a little smug each day to just take our skis off and walk in the door, when others were trudging accross to their accommodation on the other side of the valley.

Staff were welcoming, helpful, and made a real effort.

Food was oustanding, very good restaurant quality and varied.

The room was lovely, and the view of the Lac view rooms is stunning, since the rest of Tignes (which isn't all that bad really, it's in the Alps after all, and the people are ace. So long as the
snow's good it really is pretty), is behind you.

To top it all off, they made a nice fuss of us when we returned on day 3 to announce we had got engaged.

We will definitely be going back to Levanna.

My husband and I stayed here in January 2005 for a ski holiday.
I cannot rate it highly enough. It is very hard to find a reasonably priced good hotel in the Alps but this is it.

Firstly the location. It really is ski in/ ski out to the door. The hotel is a few steps away from the main Aeroski cable car, and if you want to get your boots on straight away, a short slide down to a lift. The only thing to be aware of is that the main piste back down to the hotel is a black...it is easier than most blacks (it used to be a red). Anyway there are plenty of other routes back to the hotel for less experienced skiers.

The rooms are all well decorated and spacious enough with good bathrooms. We had a room with a balcony and a great view over the whole ski area looking up towards Val Claret.

The bar/lounge and dining room are all tastefully decorated and are very cosy and comfortable as well as stylish. The breakfasts are an excellent mix of buffet and fresh coffee/croissants being brought to your table. I highly recommend staying Half Board as the food really is good quality: fresh, tasty and plenty of it. The only down side is sometimes you had to pay a supplement for things which were specials around 6 euros.

The other big plus for this Hotel is the fully inclusive (in price) jacuzzi, sauna, and steam room. Really relaxing after a day's skiing and does not get too crowded.

There is no parking at the hotel but there is a cheap covered public carpark about 5 minutes walk.

This really is a great hotel. Good value, excellent service and food, and great location.
