“Langley Tignes 2100 hotel was great!!”
Reviewed April 1, 2013

Organisation, cleanliness, bedrooms, bar and especially the food and staff were brilliant. We really enjoyed our stay and it was very convenient for the ski slopes and ski rental shop. The bar played great music and the open fire and views from the terrace were an added bonus! There was a separate boot and ski room and a quieter area to play cards and go on the wifi (although this wasn't particularly fast). Very easy to get to Val Claret and Val D'isere. We would definitely come back here again. The only real down sides were the rooms were very hot, although we did just open the window, and there was not always enough carbohydrates with the food (which was excellently cooked and extremely well presented), especially after a hard days skiing.

Room Tip: We had adjoining rooms that were facing towards le lac which had great views and were quiet.

Just returned from a great week skiing in Tignes staying in this hotel. It is in an excellent location with only a few minutes walk to the ski lifts in the morning and the ability to ski back even closer. The hotel is in need of updating but, having said that, it was comfortable. The mainly Swedish staff are very friendly and helpful. I note that others have complained about the heating and the fact that there is only one plug socket in the room. If you ask they will provide a 4 way socket and if necessary an additional free standing radiator. However, if you plug more than 2 appliances in at once you will trip the circuit breaker but they show you how to reset it! The twin beds were small but were comfortable. We had a south facing, slightly larger room with a balcony and lake view which had plenty of storage. The bathroom was small but there was always plenty of hot water. This room upgrade was included in our late deal with Crystal and so was very good value. The food is excellent, we had stayed in a Langley hotel before in Flaine which has a similar formula so knew what to expect. Breakfast is buffet style with ample hot and cold choices. The evening meal is set 3 courses, very varied through the week and of a high standard. They also cater very well for vegetarians or special diets and will suggest alternatives if you don't like the set menu. Drinks are free during the meal (the house wines were quite palatable) and this, together with a 3 hour Happy Hour in the bar from 4-7, is additional good value. There is a ski locker room, take a padlock if you want to lock your skis in, and a heated boot room. One minor gripe is that the 2 lifts are tiny and only one was working for most of the week, not much of a problem for us on the 3rd floor but annoying if you are on the 7th! We would definitely consider a Langley hotel again.

Room Tip: Upgrade to a lake view room, they are larger. Ask for extra radiators or extension sockets if you ne...

Location: can't get much better in tignes without breaking the bank, right by the le lac town centres with great options for explroing the espace killy or Val regions.

Rooms: incredibly small and incredibly basic but this is hotel skiing and your not here to sleep and lounge about your here to ski!! embrace it or open you wallet wider.

Food: absolutely superb great service, great quality, portions are small but ask for more - drank with the chef one night and he suggested we should ask for more so we did and low and behold we got a la carte standard and harvester portions!!

Entertainment: good Bar area reps tried hard but we were out most evenings enjoying what the town and region has to offer.

A brilliant cheap hotel if your there to ski, if your there for the accomodation pay more and get a bigger room but you wont get better food.

I think, the word 'hotel' is very misleading in this instance - expect more of an oversized chalet. It's very traditional, I.e. wooden decorations, wooden furniture and of course twin beds. There is no grand entrance and reception is only manned in the morning and in the evening, the general feel is more of a large b&b rather than a large hotel that you would expect from the pictures and descriptions.

So, here are some points you may want to know, if you are planning to stay at 2100:
- rooms are small, although there is an upgrade available to the balcony room, but I am not sure, if these are any bigger. To give you an idea, we pushed both beds together and into the corner to make more room, but the suitcases still had to be stored under the bed as there simply was no room.
- the furnishings are plain, but in a good condition - no corner mould or chipped paint, which is good. The overall design does look very 80s.
- the hotel does have a great location, very near the slopes and bars, shops, etc. and we did not really experience much noise, which was surprising, but very positive.
- there is a ski storage room and boot storage area, which was great as you didn't have to take wet equipment into your room and it was still safe.
- the breakfast was very nice and the dinners were delicious, also some free wine was served with dinner every night, which was great.
- it would be great to have a hair dryer in the room, a safe and more than one plug, but I am picking now.
- the bedding, although clearly washed, had stains from lipstick (I guess, judging by the colour), spilled drink and someone's suitcase wheels. On this note I must mention the cleanliness of the room in general was very average and did not ooze attention to detail.

All in all, it's a very good value for money hotel, if you are looking for a base to sleep and keep your possessions. If you are looking for a hotel experience, then give this a miss - but then if you are looking for a hotel experience, then 3 stars will really not do it.

Room Tip: If you like a spacious room, you might want to opt for a balcony one, but I am not sure, if these ar...

Just returned from a weeks skiing at Tigne le lac after staying at one of the best value for money hotels in the Alps. The food at Hotel Tignes 2100 is exceptional and the staff friendly and helpful and a delight to meet. Its just disappointing that the beds are not bigger and more comfortable as this would have made our stay outstanding. We will return,

Went as a group of 8 in March 2013 and the staff at this hotel were great, mostly Swedish. They were very attentive and worked very hard always smiling. The rooms are small but adequate and although the beds look very narrow were very comfortable. Food was far better than expected for a 3 star. Breakfast had plenty of choice buffet style and the evening meals although set were very good 3 courses the main being a quality meat or fish dish however they were able to cater for any dislikes or allegies without a problem.
Location to the centre resort and ski lifts is excellent being less than 200 metres.
Overall far better than I was expecting and would strongly recommend and use again. A credit to the staff and would consider Langley Hotels again. Excellent for a 3 star.

Hotel location is ideal as its just by the main ski lift so a short walk with skis and snowboards.

The room in the hotel is small and basic but its what I was expecting for the price I paid. There's no tv, internet and only one plug socket so make sure you bring an extension lead with you. The rooms are cozy, clean and warm too.

There is Internet in the bar (first floor) which is free but the service does drop off quite a bit in the evening as everyone's trying to use it.

The cleaners do a great job and change towels and clear up every day.

The evening 3 course meals are excellent so compliments to the chefs. Portion sizes could be bigger though as most nights I was seriously hungry. After a days skiing you do need a substantial meal so a few times I did have to pop to the local supermarket to buy a sneaky pizza after dinner.

Breakfast had hot and cold food which you helped yourself to. I couldn't fault this as there was plenty to choose from.

The waiting staff are excellent, very friendly and helpful. If you didn't like the evening meal then they will offer alternatives.

The bar had football on regularly and also had live music which was brilliant!

The hotel did have ski lockers but boards do not fit in. There is a separate room to store boards but I choose not to use it as there was no locks so anyone could just walk off with your stuff. My room mate used the snowboard room and his board didn't get pinched. I've had things taken from other hotels with a similar set up so I didn't want to risk it.

I would definitely stay at this hotel again as it was great value for money.
