“Excellent location”
Reviewed March 4, 2013

We just returned from a week skiing in Tignes and stayed in this hotel. The first thing we noticed was the location- it's literally a three minute walk to the lifts. Perfect! OK, it's a bit dated but overall we found it to be perfectly comfortable and very affordable. We got a south facing room with a balcony. It's a small basic room with absolutely no frills, but was extremely clean. The views are stunning and the rooms were pretty quiet too. At times they were a little too hot in the middle of the night. We noticed in previous reviews that people were complaining about the portion size at dinner. Yes they are quite small but the food was very tasty- if a tad on the salty side. For women, the portions were perfectly fine, but maybe a bit on the small side for the guys. Our advice would be to stock up on plenty of bread..and maybe ask for seconds if you're feeling brave. The staff are extremely nice though and probably won't mind you asking. Wine comes free with dinner too but don't be afraid to ask for a top up with this too. We were often forgotten about :( Two of us were vegetarians and it was a lovely change to see that not all dishes were cheese based. A lovely variety of stuffed tomatoes, peppers, goats cheese, cod (for pescetarians) gnocchi and ravioli. Yum!
Breakfast is self-service and huge. Eggs, bacon, cheese, breads, yoghurts, fruit salad etc.
There is also free wifi in the hotel but good luck getting signal in the rooms..you'll have to hang about in the bar to get reception. Happy hour is from 4-6 which is great. It's buy one, get one free for ALL drinks.
There's also a fun quiz on Thursday nights which is 2€ each to enter. A free round for the winners.
In the evenings after a long day skiing, we left our ski gear in the drying room. It feels like a very safe hotel so we had no problems in leaving our stuff there.(We didn't use the lockers)
Also, I see that the lifts have been broken in previous reviews but we had no problems with them. They're a bit on the slow side but worth the wait if you're on the fourth floor. :)
Overall, cheap, excellent location, and perfectly comfy all things considered.
Thanks for a very enjoyable stay Tignes 2100!

Room Tip: Ask for a south facing room. Higher levels are quieter than those on lower levels.

Just returned from fab week in Hotel tignes 2100 great value for money. We stayed in a north facing room which was a little small (understand south facing are larger with balcony) but room very comfortable, spotlessly clean, warm and well lit. . Bathroom modern and always hot water. Staff extremely polite and friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Buffet Breakfast plenty of choice both hot and cold. Dinner was very nicely presented and tasty, and included a drink, although portions could be a little more generous, but service excellent. Menu displayed in english each day and an alternative is available if required. Free internet. Ski lockers and boot room available (snowboard difficult to fit in lockers). Tips: take kettle, hair dryer, 2 way extension (only one plug socket), lock for ski locker. Location excellent - 5 min walk to lifts. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: South facing rooms larger with balcony. Rooms on top floors may be quieter (bin and snow clearing ve...

We previously visited this hotel 3 years ago. It was under the Langley management (and still is) and is a partner of Crystal. The hotel had undergone some refurbishment and was generally in better order. The beds seemed new and although quite narrow were very comfortable. The evening meals were excellent; the portions were modest but the three courses were enough for our party. The complimentary wine was much better than some sampled in previous Chalet holidays. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The holiday was booked late and represented good value for money. We would all return without hesitation.

Room Tip: Try to negotiate a south facing room - without additional cost of course! They have superb views, go...

If you want access to fantastic skiing on a budget this hotel is difficult to beat. This is my third visit to Tignes 2100 hotel, for a week’s skiing. I have skied all over Europe, USA and Canada. This is the best budget deal for skiers of all abilities, who come to 1) ski first and 2) enjoy good food, a few glasses of wine and a few laughs. This time I travelled with 3 female skiers….and a hairdryer! Only fair to point out we were tucked up in bed before midnight, so not really able to comment on the nightlife.

The location is perfect, its 5 min walk to lifts, ski hire and ski school. The rooms are small and basic, but clean and warm. New, (since last year) really comfy beds. There was no TV and no WIFI in the room. Our room was on the 3rd floor, so walking up/ down was not too difficult! The lifts were unreliable. The ski storage (unheated) and boot room are on the ground floor.

We were up for breakfast at 7 30, to get on first lifts/ ski school. Breakfast is buffet style, self service with a wide variety of options. There was always a great selection of food for veggies and meat eaters at breakfast and in the evening. The evening meals are fantastic and service in the dining room is very good. Dinner is 3 courses, with drinks (wine) included, table service with alternative options if you don’t like the meal offered. Nice to see that instead of one sitting at 7 30 (last year) one could eat any time between 7 30 and 9 pm. Beware though, more difficult to get a table after 8!

The bar has a great “happy hour” from 4-6, 2 large beers for 6 Euros. Also had a music quiz on a Tues and a French general knowledge quiz on a Thurs….good fun if you don’t want to move from the fireside!

The staff in the reception, bar and hotel are all polite, helpful and mostly Swedish.

I would recommend this hotel for skiers who prioritise cost, location and food over luxury accommodation.

Room Tip: Go high for views if you can manage the stairs!

Just back from a ski holiday to Tignes. This Swedish run hotel is a delight. Maybe a little dated but the staff and location make it an ideal place to stay. A very short walk to the Palafour and Aeroski lifts. Breakfast, superb. Plenty of choice. Staff, excellent. Very well trained. Polite, smiley, helpful. All young Swedish. Fabulous. Evening meals could not be faulted. A slight twist to the usual served up in British run hotels made the menus interesting. Not a chip or fried object in sight! Unlimited wine. Drinkable, but not top quality. Staff were happy to allow our daughter, and her boyfriend, to eat with us on her birthday (23€) and even gave her a cake. Entertainment in the bar,Big Mountain, was great. Just what you need on a ski holiday. Stay here next time. Great value. Take in Folie Douce whilst you are there.

Room Tip: Perhaps a front facing room. Back ones are a bit noisy due to proximity of road.

This is now the second time I have been to the Tignes 2100.
I have come back because it is for a ski resort such good value. Half board and all you can drink for dinner is a right result. The location is superb. The lifts are about 2 minutes walk away.
The food last time was great despite what people have said. Its very french. If you are fussy or only eat burgers and chips then you probably need to eat at the kebab shop just outside the back door of the hotel. (And get some culture)
I can only say the food has actually approved on what was truly superb. It has the texture, taste and appearence of a top restaurant. Breakfast was varied and for an alpen ski resort, I was pleased to see scrambled eggs and bacon.
The hotel itself had sort of become mpre delapidated. The glass pain was missing in tje front door and was replaced with plasterboard and duck tape. The lift didnt work on all floors and was taped over. I know these probably take time to fix especially in the mountain but was broken when we arrived and when we left. The rooms were basic but with no problems. The shower was powerfull and the heating was fine. The only downside was one plig socket.
The staff were friendly and happy to help. The only massive downside was that we were on the floor above the bar and you could hear the music till 11pm through the floor. I woild for the price come back a 3rd time as long as I wasn't on the same floor.

Hotel room was tiny but ones facing north slightly bigger, beds were half width single but comfortable enough. Now the food was fantastic and served each night with drinkable house wine the service by the young hotel staff was excellent and food gets 5*. The bar was like everywhere else very expensive over £6 a pint but ok to sit and chat with nice atmosphere. Location was spot on and there is a spar shop with cafe just round the corner which was great for lunch snacks and coffee etc. overall I'd recommend this as food and location and service made the week for us- 4 guys on boarding/skiing week.
