If you want access to fantastic skiing on a budget this hotel is difficult to beat.
5 min walk to lifts, ski hire and ski school. The hotel also offers ski guiding. There is a supermarket and bakery there too, handy to go back to room for lunch and kick the boots off for an hour before heading back out in the afternoon.
The rooms are small and basic, but clean and warm. There was no TV and no WIFI in the room. We paid a small supplement for an en suite with half bath…..worth it after skiing! Our room was on the 5th floor, lovely and quiet. The lifts were fun, sometimes it was quicker to walk down! The ski storage (unheated) is on the ground floor.
The food is excellent and service in the dining room is very good, although it is a good idea to take an extra layer with you. Dinner is 3 courses, with drinks included, table service with alternative options if you don’t like the meal offered. Breakfast is buffet style, self service with a wide variety of options. We sat with other guests at busy times and sometimes had a table for 4 to ourselves. The staff in the reception, bar and hotel are all polite, helpful and Swedish! I would recommend this hotel for skiers who prioritise location and food over luxury accommodation.

Room Tip: Go high for peace and views of the mountains.

The hotel is pretty much next to the lift and the slope so near ski-in ski-out but it's wedged between two busy roads.
I may have had bad luck with the room but found myself woken up at closing time every night for a week.
Apart from that it's a perfectly good value for money, purpose built, all-inclusive ski-hotel with good service and good food in one of the best ski systems in the world. Functional if not the most exciting.

We booked this ski holiday for a group of 16, only a few weeks before the trip. For the price we paid it was good value. Food in the evening was really tasty and decent portions (although not huge) so you were happily full after 3 courses. Better than a chalet in some regards as there were also a selection of soft drinks included (mostly sodas). They also did us a really nice breakfast in a bag for our early coach transfer.

Bar area is a really good size with a balcony view over the lake and a 2 for 1 happy hour which makes it decent value for in resort pre-dinner drinks. Pool tables and a quieter room behind the bar serve as a lounge so there are decent in hotel evening options.

Tips for the hotel – There are no hair dryers in the rooms, so you need to bring one – there are enough ski lockers so you should be fine not carrying heavy equipment up and down. Can’t say I noticed an issue with lifts – but I was only on the 3rd floor. Also, room about same size (small)as every other ski holiday I have been on, so no issues there.

Positives – price, location (2 mins to slopes and ski hire), food/drinks and staff friendliness

Negatives – very rigid dinner times (especially for larger groups), chance of getting locked out at night because forgetting the door codes

Room Tip: Lower floors will have less issues with the lifts!

as a group of forty-something males leaving our luxury-loving wags at home,there are only a few things we need for a good skiing holiday;

snow-lots of it

a hot shower and comfortable bed

a well located hotel with friendly, helpful staff

lots of good quality food .

tignes 2100 delivered very well on all but one of these.

while the quality of the food was excellent (almost restaurant standard), the size of the portions were completely inadequate.now, im the first to admit i have a bigger than average appetite but ive never had to go out and get a take-out pizza after a 3 course "meal" before.on the first night, i mistook my main course for a starter and i think the waitress thought i was being sarcastic when i asked "whats for main?" as she cleared away my plate.ive been on many ski holidays, all of similar (3 star-ish) quality and have never encountered this before.
it was so disappointing and took the gloss what was otherwise an excellent stay.

i view a good hearty meal as a necessity after a long day on the slopes and tignes 2100 failed to deliver me one all week so im afraid id only recommend it if youre on a diet!

such a shame

As people have said, some of the facilities could be improved such as the lifts, which are old and unreliable, and the bar could have a slight facelift. However I thought it was a great hotel overall. Comfortable twin room with fresh clean linen, not huge but not too small. Good shower. Room and bathroom were very clean.

Location is excellent for the slopes and nearby shops. Plus, the bus from Tignes Val Claret stops just behind (just go up the stairs to the hotel rear entrance).

The staff in the reception, bar and hotel are all very approachable and willing to help.

The evening meals were delicious and beautifully presented. Breakfast was a good buffet (however don't expect to get bacon eggs and sausages! It's more pf continental breakfast)

There is free WiFi in the bar. Reception is not manned all day - just morning and evening, but this didn't cause any problems.

I would recommend this hotel!

Room Tip: South facing have better views.

This is advertised as a three star hotel in the French Alps-It is excellent value for money in a resort like tignes (a skiers resort). We had a group staying last week (24-31 March 2012) booked through Crystal Ski. To summarise, great 3* hotel in a great location, the food being excellent all week. The staff were all friendly and excellent. Rooms basic and clean. The only down side, as mentioned by others, are that the lifts were a bit sporadic. Only negative of entire holiday was that we booked a beginner into lessons via Crystal Ski with ESF (Very badly organised lessons and would NOT recommend), however Crystal rep was great and we got a part refund.

Room Tip: Top floor, south facing.

We stayed 10-17 March 2012 and booked through Crystal.
The hotel is well located, a short (but icy) walk from the main lifts and within the commercial centre of Tignes 2100 (Le Lac). Building design and decor very much of the 1970s. The room we had was cramped, for 2 adults and 1 child. Child slept directly above the heads of the adults, not ideal. The adult beds were fairly firm and comfortable, though the pillows were thin and soft.
We paid a bit more for a south facing room with balcony, which had good views of the lake and mountains and I thought was worth the extra. The bathroom was a decent size, if old fashioned, with all facilties working well. The shower was always hot and powerful enough.

The dining room is simple and pleasant, though a bit chilly on occasions. Breakfast mainly cold buffet style, with boiled eggs and thick porridge as warm options. Cereals, yoghurt, breads, toast, croissant, cold meats, cucumber, tomato, fruit salad, teas, coffee, fruit juice, etc. Dinner was 3 courses and generally good quality, with a few less common meats and vegetables on offer from the Swedish hosts. Rather limited range for vegetarians. Portions I found a bit small, given the energy being burned up on this sort of holiday. Alternative kids choice on offer, such as lasagne.
I found all staff, including Sven the manager, polite and helpful. The service in the dining room and cleaning of rooms was very good. Staff were efficient, friendly and dealt calmly with minor incidents, such as a guest accidentally knocking 3 full jugs of milk onto the floor during breakfast. I'm pleased they appear to have tried to tackle some guests, old enough to know better, who thought it OK to be very noisy well into the wee small hours most nights.
The bar seemed OK, with a decent sunny terrace outside. It had 2 pool tables and a bar football game. Wi fi was free though very slow. The 2 lifts were hopelessly unreliable, which could be an issue for those on higher floors, or the less mobile. Boot and ski storage rooms OK - take a small padlock if you want to secure your skis in your locker. Lockers too small to store snowboards.
All things considered, if you're here for the skiing/boarding, this is a reasonable value base. Not great for those who spend more time indoors or expect modern standards of comfort.

Room Tip: Higher floor rooms (up to 7th) quieter but lifts to them unreliable. Good views from south facing ba...
