Lovely hotel. Brilliant all in food and kids loved the pool, jacuzzi etc. Just a short walk from the slopes (don't bother with the ski in, ski out round the back it's far quicker, and easier, to walk the 50 metres up the road) All I would ask is that Serge and his lovely team put a few more shelves up in the rooms and a couple more clothes pegs as there isn't enough places to hang up 4 ski jackets, clothes etc.

Just a small thank you for an often unrecognised group, the maids were brilliant. Clearing up after my 13 and 10 year old kids must have been quite a task, but the rooms were immaculate every day

This hotel is small family run with great, helpful and most importantly welcoming staff, most of which are hot (gwen)!! The rooms are fit for purpose, the food is great, 3 course meal each night AND a cheese board with local cheeses! After hitting the slopes we used the hotel's jacuzzi, steam room, sauna and swimming pool, all kept to a high standard. The location is ideal for the central lifts, ski schools and bars; the hotel location itself is quiet though. If we go back to tignes, we will definitely be staying at this hotel.

My boyfriend and I have just returned for an amazing week skiing in Tignes. We stayed at Hotel Le Gentiana which is in perfect location to get anywhere. It has a great locker room for skis with heated prongs to warm your boots and it just a few moments walk down to the lifts. Due to the large amount of snow fall though the back entrance to ski in/out was out of action, but this doesnt really matter.

The hotel is really nicely decorated and clean, we had a large room with a balcony - very adequate space for what you need, plenty of room to hang clothes and room to store suitcases out of the way for the week.

The pool area was clean and there was enough hot tub space for everyone, though wear your flip flops it can get quite slippy.

The food was nice, however not what I liked. It could be described as very French, the meat was always served medium rare despite asking for it well done. In addition there wasn't any choice other than what was on the menu, not great it your vegetarian or fussy because almost every dish was meat, and the waiters, who dont speak english, are unable to find an alternative. The breakfast was plentiful, though the only hot food is runny boiled eggs, there isnt even a toaster, but there is a basket full of croissants and pain au chocolats.

Overall our stay was great, the skiing amazing and we plan to return to the area real soon, however next time we will stay either B&B or SC just because of the vast amount of places to eat around the resort and the well stocked spar. Though if your looking for a posh hotel and enjoy fancy meals this is your place.

This was my third stay at this lovely welcoming hotel in Tignes le lac .
Once again Serge , Nadia and the team ensured our stay was as good as ever,
The food again was of a high standard with a good choice of main courses and starters.
The room was bright and airy and cleaned daily by smiling happy staff .
We cut short our trip because of worsening horrendous weather and the road up from Bourg St Maurice was in danger of being closed , Rather than charging us for the full booked week we were given a discount which Serge didn,t have to .
If you are looking for a good quality Hotel close to the pistes and lifts in arguably the finest ski area in the world then look no further .
Would I return ? yes in 6 weeks time .

It's all true! The food is fabulous. Some rooms are tiny - we asked to change to a room with a bath and were given a bigger room but this was low season and the hotel wasn't full, the original room was so small that the TV was in the wardrobe! There seems to be some confusion as to whether you can ski in -out. Simple - the BACK of the hotel is on a piste which goes to the chairlifts this is acessed via a spiral staircase, we dropped our skis & poles down into deep snow so we didn't have to carry them down but it's really not an issue. I have read reviews from people complaining that they had to walk up the road to the hotel with their skis - it would appear common sense isn't that common.

All the reviews are correct, this is a great place to stay. We booked the hotel directly, and drove from the uk. They where able to accomodate us for 8 nights and with a 8 day ski pass, this is probably only possible in low season. The overall cost was not the cheapest, but I think when you add up the pluses, Very warm friendly service (Serge, Nadia and the team), Good facilities (pool can get busy), top quality food (excellent without being pretentious)-- this hotel is top value.
The stay started with a warm welcome and handshake from Nadia, and the leaving day was a warm handshake from Serge. All the staff are friendly, our waiter was a bit serious but ok :-) Wine is not cheap with the evening meal €20+, but saying that everywhere is expensive in Tignes/ Val, large beer is €6.

Rooms are on the small side, room storage is limited, but the rooms are always clean. Note- our rooms had balconies facing the road, and it can get a bit noisy when the next door bar empties out at 2am. Get a room facing the rear cat track if you want a quiet time.

We used the rear outside stairs to get the green run at the back of the hotel, all was ok. Aeroski was shut a couple of days so this really helped.

Anyway I'll stop rambling- if you want an excellent hotel, close to the slopes- stay here. We'll use it next time we stay in Tignes.

I managed to get a room last minute to stay with Serge and Nadia, upon arrival I was given a very warm welcome by Serge
and all of his staff, traveling on my own this was great! I felt like part of the family.
I wasn't sure what to expect but the food was nothing short of exceptional and the service was second to none. I would recommend the hotel to anyone and everyone considering staying!
