Stayed here in April 2013 (as well as in 2002) as we have access through a family member who has a time-share here.
THE GOOD: The apartments are very cleverly designed to fit lots of stuff into a very tight space - a functional kitchen (except oven), a lounge with dining table and sofa which rolls easily out into a double bed at night, two bunk beds, lots of storage areas. We ate most meals here, bringing a fair number of supplies from the lowlands but topping up at the bakery and grocery store across the street. The cheese shops will lend you a raclette oven for the night. And obviously, being in Val Claret means you are well placed for the skiing, which is what we really came for. And a nice view out the window.
THE BAD: The apartment we last stayed in had a mouldy smell coming out of the bathroom. The building is definitely a 60s 70s era creation, and the minor amendments over the years can't hide that. The ski lockers near the reception are dark and require cramming into narrow spaces. There's not much in the way of common spaces.
THE NORMAL: This isn't a hotel with maid service, it is a holiday residence, so you get handed your clean sheets and stuff upon arrival and make your own beds, and daily cleaning (and a big clean and inventory at the end) is up to you. Kitchen supplies are quite good but if you need special stuff do bring them.
