The chalet itself is fairly basic with only 1 en-suite room. After that it is 7 people to each bathroom and toilet which is too many, and the toilets mostly don't have wash basins. There are no keys to the room doors, though the front door is locked, and at least one single room doesn't even have a window, but does have a noisy vent. The atmosphere inside was bone dry and hard to drink enough in the night.
However, the staff (Crystal) were very good, even having someone get up at 4am on leaving day, and nothing was too much trouble for them. The food was very good but we would have liked a bit bigger quantities after a hard day's skiing, but that is down to budget and not a criticism of the staff. There is plenty of free wine with/after the meal and tea and coffee available all day.
It is in an excellent location, right next to 2 lifts going opposite ways up the mountain, though it does take a small walk of maybe 50m up a small slippy rise. You can ski back to within 50m(max) of the chalet.
WiFI would be a very good addition to the chalet.
So apart from the basic(small) rooms and lack of bathroom/toilet facilities it was a very good experience, though people should know that there would usually be at least one large group there.

Room Tip: get the en-suite.

Chalet was very difficult to sleep in due to the moisture being sucked out of the air. Service was always half-hearted from young hosts. No room keys! Apparently room keys are not supplied in any Chalets, not sure if that is believable. Does say you can ski to door which was possible if you want to risk scratching base layer on your equipment and you have to actually walk to top of hill in order to get to lift. Not what I expedited really. Quite an average or just below stay. Probably won't be staying there again.

This is a large chalet, more like a small hotel to be honest. We were a large group and there was another group and a couple too.
Busy and with atmosphere and great for us, but could perhaps be too much if you were in a small group and shy and retiring!
Clean and tidy, food was of a good quality, served quickly and the staff were all pleasant and helpful - not always easy when you are looking after 30 people all starving and wanting to eat.
Bedroom was a bit small and dark, and bathrooms are shared between 3 or 4 rooms I think - there are plenty but timing is key! I would not want to be in the bedroom above the sitting room.
Boot room a bit small for the number of people.
Location is the real star - 2 lifts within 2 minutes, ski in ski out even when we stayed and the snow was at its thinnest all season.

We stayed at the Chalet Glacier booked via Crystal Ski w/c 9th April. It is in a great location for the Chardonnes and Paquis chairlift, or the free bus. You won't find Chalet Glacier on the Lavachet resort map as it's called something else but it's actually residence 68. The room size was pretty generous ( we had rooms 4,5,6,7,11) with single beds, bedside tables and one wardrobe. We knew we'd be sharing bathrooms but for 6,7 and 8, there was one bath/shower and separate toilet to share and despite us not knowing the people in room 8, the arrangement worked well. Yes, the walls are a bit thin but after a days skiing any low level noise didn't keep us awake. Teenagers take note - there is no tv or DVD player and no wifi -

Was staying at the chalet glacier last week in March with Fiance and friends. Rooms were basic but comfy.
Great chalet for meeting people little bit loud on some nights.
Food was very good - chef Will is great!
All the staff were very helpfull.
All in a great holiday, would def go back.

Had a great week with my 15yr old son, staying in Room 1 above lounge. Only negatives on this characterful room (my son loved it) are low height and shower/WC very small, plus being above lounge if you want a really early night you need an mp3 player or ear plugs, but in school hols everyone turned in by 11-ish anyway. You won't be sleeping in - it's a typical chalet with thin walls in every room so you'd be woken up by 7.30, but that was fine with us.

If you're sociable the chalet size is ideal as there's always someone to chat to at meals or in lounge. The staff were friendly and helpful, they sorted out 2 light fittings and a larger duvet immediately they were asked. Lift access within 2 mins walk to both main ski areas, and to the frequent buses.

I'm glad I had read tripadvisor about this chalet before I went as it prepared me appropriately - otherwise I'd be disappointed. The negatives- very basic decor - almost like a hostel. Some rooms very small - especially the 2 single rooms - no windows(pitch black in night) so not suitable for young children. Only 1 shared bathroom and toilet per floor - for 6/7 people so a struggle in the morning and evening to use the loo and have a wash /shower. Now the positives - the chalet staff were exemplary - friendly and helpful and the food provided by Will was excellent.Ski in/out good but access may not be suitable for beginners. Despiteall the above we would definetely stay here again.
