Room was good, warm, clean, facing the slopes as we had requested. Was noisy at 5am every day from piste bashers but was expected being so close to slopes. Good location. We always choose a hotel with a pool as we only ski in the morning but were disappointed to hear it didn't open until 4pm. Thierry was great in the restaurant very welcoming and accommodating. Food unfortunately was not to our taste. I would recommend if you can get a good deal. Les Gets a good resort great for all levels. Town small but good selection of bars/restaurants. Couldn't find any happy hours! Bar bush was my favorite, husband enjoyed Canadian bar and big foots.

This was the second stay in 3 years . The front of house , lounge and dining room has been spruced - but the food has stagnated . Breakfast options have decreased and dinner esp the fondue were very ordinary !!

The staff were exceptional esp Thierry the restaurant manager - he is the life and soul of the dining room !!

The rooms are very ordinary - pillows are AWEFUL and the shower defies logic - how difficult can it be to wall mount a shower rather than have hand shower at shin level ????

Love Les Gets but will probably look elsewhere to stay

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel on Tripadvisor. We truly regret that your second stay with us didn't give you entire satisfaction.

Until last winter, our restaurant used to offer a menu for evening meals with a choice between 2 starters and 2 mains. We have changed it and we now offer "à la carte" in order to improve our restaurant. We are sorry to read that both breakfasts and evening meals didn't match your expectations. Our Chef and restaurant manager will be informed in due course to improve the meals.

We noted your disappointment about the room and shower. Additional or other pillows are available on request either at the reception or just by asking our housekeeper. We have also planned to refurbish our rooms and bathrooms in a near future to offer a better comfort to our guests.

We really hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again at La Marmotte for your next stay in Les Gets.

Best wishes

We arrived at 11.30pm very tired. We entered the reception area and were greeted by Marin, I think the Hotel Manager, who could not have done enough for us. We felt at home immediately. We were shown to our superior room overlooking the slopes. The room was excellent with great views. Tea making facilities were not available, however when requested were provided immediately with no fuss. The bar area was superb again, nothing was too much trouble and all the staff from reception to the room service personnel were so polite and accommodating.
Breakfast was served in the dinning room and was of good quality with a choice of continental breakfast or bacon, scrambled eggs and the best mini sausages.
If you drink rouge then a glass was reasonable and nibbles were always provided. We used the spar area most days and the standard was excellent. With jacuzzi bath(could have been warmer) to the sauna and steam room and swimming pool.
If we ever return to les gets again then La Marmotte will be the place to stay. A Bientot Marin.

The hotel is in a great location. Looking out onto the main ski run into Les Gets.
when we found our room it was very tired. We were staying in a family room. The upstairs area for the children was tiny, my children could not stand up in it. The bathroom was also very disappointing with a broken attachment shower.
With a four star hotel it should have its own private boot room.
The service in the bar was awful it took ages to get a drink and on several occasions we were given the wrong drinks. They had a beautiful fire place which was never lit during our stay.
The pool and Hammam should be open for longer periods of time.
The outside steps to the hotel were never cleared and were dangerous.
The restaurant service was also poor.
Overall a four star hotel with 2 star service and rooms!

This is a good hotel in an excellent location - immediately opposite the home piste into Les Gets and only 100m from the main resort lifts. The staff are friendly and helpful, the lounge is a great place to unwind after a hard day's skiing and the bedrooms are well appointed and comfortable. The spa is excellent, especially the hammam area and the pool.

However there are some areas for improvement. The bar service was slow, including one night during our stay when it took 25 minutes to get a drink, and the shower completely useless because of a head fitting which sprayed the water horizontally onto the opposite wall. But these are minor niggles.

The one real problem is that the hotel doesn't have its own ski and boot room. Guests use the ski hire shop next door, but this means having to put outside shoes on, walk round the front of the hotel and then go into the hire shop. Although the hotel claims that guests have their own area in the shop we found that this wasn't the case - the boot racks were wheeled into the middle of the fitting area and anyone could walk up to the ski rack. Taking part in the early morning scrum to get a seat to put your boots on alongside the shop's customers isn't what you want from a four star hotel and is a major omission in a ski hotel of this standard.

Room Tip: The rooms on the piste side of the hotel are noisy. The sound of late night revellers and early morn...

We stayed for 2 nights at the Tapiaz hotel in Les Gets. The larger sister hotel is currently being refurbished. This hotels has undergone recent refurbishment I think as all the rooms look great and the bathrooms are large, clean and very modern. Thierry was a fantastic host during our stay, so freindlymandmwilling to accommodate. I think we happened to be the only guests on the first night but breakfast was set up the next morning with a fabulous spread. The coffee was very good.

There is free car parking available, during the summer months and the hotel is situated very central in Les Gets. I would love,to,come back and stay here in the winter as the position for a ski resort is second to none. What a great little hotel with lovely staff.

Room Tip: Had what looked like a great spa

We stayed in 'La Marmotte's' other and smaller half, 'La Tapiaz' just over the road in July 2013 while 'La Marmotte' opposite was being [massively] refurbished.
So were we happy ... WERE we?
What could POSSIBLY have been any better or nicer? It was ENORMOUSLY friendly [Thierry, Sandrine, Fanny etc], enormously comfortable and nice and just GREAT in every possible way.
We went walking in the mountains with the spring flowers still out in July, we swam in their HUGE pool, Alexi produced jump-leads when our car wouldn't start ...
We'd give La Tapiaz 6 out of 5 ...
[Oh, except the coffee-machine at breakfast: we'd give that 1 out of 5]

Room Tip: 4 was perfect ....
