Chalet Martinet

Returned for our second consecutive year and yet again did not disappoint. A long boys weekend. Chalet is located in a fantastic location close to lift and next door to ski shop. Ski shop much better equipped than last year. Superbly hosted by Roz who even pandered to my fussy eating habits!
All the Reach 4 the Alps staff are brilliant - so helpful & friendly. Right from the booking & all the way through.
Great Chalet, well equipped & lovely jacuzzi. Also a real bonus to share the chalet with some great folks from Bath.
Best snow ever!
See you again next year.

What an excellent experience we had an Chalet martinet. Great location, great chalet, great host in Ros (and Joe), great transfer company. I will highly recommend to others.

Downstairs bed rooms are 'cosy' !

Food was great.

We stayed during the ski season 2013,(our 4th year). The location of this chalet was very good especially if you use perrier lift. If not Jo our guide was always willing to be a taxi service for the short drive into the centre (fine to walk without ski equip etc). Our chalet host Roz was a super cook and made sure the rooms were always spotless, nothing was too much trouble for any of our hosts. We had a super stay made all the more pleasurable by the attention to detail this small family operator "reach4theapls" provides. I don't think we will ever tire of Le Gets. Thank you so much. Superb holiday. Thoroughly enjoyed our week at Chalet Martinet. Great food, very good wine and well looked after by our 2 chalet hosts. Many thanks Roz and Joe. This is our third year at Les Gets with Reach For The Alps and each time has been better than the last. We were spoilt with very good snow conditions, lifts right next to the chalet and a ski shop next door. We would not hesitate to book again.

Just back from a week in Les Gets with Reach 4 the Alps. Stayed in chalet Martinet for the second time and it was just as good as the first visit. Great chalet host, great food, great help from the ski guide who was very helpful even though he was spread across several chalets. Sitting in the hot tub, with a beer, in the snow, with good company is ridiculously enjoyable.

We were in a group of nine, all friends from uni now at the grand old ages of 26-29 and we had an awesome time in all aspects. The fantastic snow helped too!

The summer holiday in Les Gets was mainly chosen for our kids love of mountain biking. Although we had been nearby some time ago this was our first trip to Les Portes du Soleil. We were very impressed by the standard of accommodation in the chalet. Having 3 boys they each had there own room and the main living area was very spacious. There were excellent facilities for washing and drying beside the sauna area which were put to good use. The hot tub was also used by the boys, although it hadn't been working when we arrived it was fixed during our stay. There is also a shared garden with Chalet Alouette although we generally had this to ourselves when having a BBQ in the evening.

Marcus, Gina, and Jane were kind enough to book a couple of activities for us and Gina provided lots of information about walks that we could do.

Access to shops was within short walking distance, either down the hill to a small supermarket, or up the hill to the main town where there are plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants. The best supermarket was just outside Morzine which is a larger and busier town.

For those that like outdoor activities this a great place with plenty to do (although I don't recommend the white water rafting after a lot of rain). There were also plenty of places to visit including Chamonix, Annecy, and Yvoire. The new aquatic centre at Avoriaz was also good.

The only small negative points were that there was building work going on next door and the main road into Les Gets was closed for repair. This meant that it was more noisy and there was more traffic than there would usually be. I expect that once this was completed it would be much quieter. We had a great holiday there and would love to do it again.

Completely agree with the other reviewers. We have just come back from a brilliant week at Chalet Martinet. The Chalet is perfectly located right by the slopes (about a 15 minute walk uphill into the town) and we were really well looked after. Alice was an excellent host and prepared delicious meals for us and our children, and Ian was a fantastic guide - as others have said, nothing was too much trouble and we had a seamless week - just what we needed. We only managed to use the hot tub on the last evening - wish we had used it earlier!
