“Fine if you take the whole chalet, otherwise not.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 21, 2011

This chalet is in one of the best locations in Les Gets - short distance from main slopes, close to town centre, good view from balcony. Some rooms are very small and the living / eating area really is too small for 16 people. But if you take the whole chalet, who cares. Impossible otherwise. Definately not luxury, but good, clean, well refurbished standard accommodation in a nice building. As with our last trip with Alpine Elements the chalet staff were perfect, food was good, wine appalling (buy your own - its that bad). Alpine elements do have good prices and the balance of price versus accommodation standard is good. Incidently; the standard of ESF ski lessons in Les Gets is very poor. Go Swiss if you want to learn anything.

Before we start I'm not a regular complainer and have posted good reviews on other places. This review has been written AFTER the 'refurbishment' mentioned on the Alpine Elements website.

OPINION: If you are looking for 'a must-have chalet for skiers wanting a little more luxury and style' this isn't it. If you are looking for an overpriced 2 star you're in luck. The chalet staff were excellent and did what they could with poor supplies but this is a basic chalet and corners are cut on food, linen, room sizes - pretty much everything.
FACTS:
Linen was threadbare and stained (although clean), there were no curtains in the rooms - even on the ground floor.
Delicious buttered croissant for brekkers? no chance, try a frozen 'pastry' from the supermarket with chemical gloop marg.
Porridge is one of the daily breakfast 'specials'.
Living room does not have enough space to seat everyone in the chalet for pre-dinner drinks.
I did raise these points with Alpine Elements but received the standard gobbledegook reply with an offer of 10% next year - as if I'd travel with them again.

I have to agree in parts with all comments. We spent a week in Chalet Seigneurie at the beginning of April and had the whole chalet (we were a party of 10 adults and 7 children).

We had no problems with either transfer and only had to wait about 10 mins for the coach both times.

Whilst the chalet itself is very basic, it was clean and as mentioned before we went to ski so we were on the slopes all day. If you are after a luxuary chalet then this is not it. The bedrooms are very small and the storage is minimal. As were one party we only really slept in our bedrooms. The room off the kitchen and the one directly below were very small. However I am not aware that the people in this room were woken by noise as the chalet hosts did not arrive in the morning until after we were up (as we were going skiing!).

The two lads who were the chalet hosts did a sterling job. The food was actually really good and when we asked they were very flexible with food preparation. They popped to the boulangerie to pick up croissants for us in the morning (as cereal, bread and boiled eggs did get a bit monotonous) and prepared an early separate tea for the children. One of our party was vegetarian and her food was also great (which has been a huge problem on previous ski holidays).

The views from this chalet are outstanding and the location to the slopes is really good too.

I will admit I have stayed in far more luxurious surroundings but last year we booked with Cristal and that was 100 times worse.

However, would I book with Alpine Elements again, probably not.
