Its been renovated at some point, so rooms are much better then in close by Huez, food is great, its not exactly ski in/out but walk is only like 3 minutes up the steps. Mountain itself is not great but has plenty off-piste options (Huez is better in terms of skiing), while you do get nicer rooms, there is no sauna or pool. For this you can go to public place across the street, I think its free with ski pass.

We are big fans of Club Med, trying to go at least 2 times per year to their various destinations.

Having enjoyed our previous 2 times at Club Med 2 Alpes, we booked again with a group of friends in the same period as before. The reason we like this club so much, is the value for money, and the fact that a single room (that our friends book) is at no additional charge. My husband and I always book the luxury room, which is more spacious. Unfortunately this year (we are still there at this moment) we had a very unpleasant surprise. Instead of the room type that we were used to, we were given room 404 which is a handicapped room. Instead of the 2 washbasins, there was only one. The bed was not the usual spacious double bed, but instead a large single or a very small double (1m40). The shower had no curtain or door, and as a result, after each shower the bathroom floor was soaked, including the towels, toiletpaper etc.

I called up the reception to see if they had another room available for us, being such frequent Club Med travellers and having booked so far in advance. Unfortunately this was not the case. Strangely enough, one of our friends who travelled alone, also booked this luxury room. She is not a frequent Club Med traveller, but she was given the roomtype that we would normally have as a couple. With the 2 washbasins that she would not use being in the room by herself, and the huge bed. Also she only booked this trip not so long before departure. As the reception could not do anything for us (they told us that we could downgrade, but they would not refund the additional 500 euro that we paid) , our friend was generous enough to swap rooms.

All in all I believe that the planning department should keep certain things in mind in allocating the rooms, such as number of people in the room, being a valued Club Med member etc. Next year I am not sure if I am willing to pay the extra sum of money if we don't get the guarantee for the extra value for money.

Room Tip: If you book a luxury room and don't need the handicapped facilities, avoid room 404!

We were persuaded to try club med, all eight of us were pleasantly surprised. From the moment we arrived the staff were excellent, meal times were a delight as the buffet offering at breakfast, lunch and dinner was superb. Rooms were quite small, loads of storage and tidied to a very high standard each day.
The facilities within the hotel are excellent, including the bar and the ski shop.
Try this holiday you will not be disappointed.
Well done Club Med, we will be visiting another one of your hotels next year.

This is my worst club med experience. Staff does not look very concerned...with a big lack of energy.
The first day we got our room after 8pm, we had to stay 6 hours waiting at the bar.....do not expect a smile from the reception or any real help.
Room are small but well equipped. The food was really good congratulation to the kitchen staff. The design& layout of the restaurant is nice, with a very nice view. Can't say the same for the 7pm snacks... everything always cold... or even frozen...very bad.
the ski quality is average. You need to walk over stairs for 5mn before arriving to the slops, which is very inconvenient for young child or older people.
I'm a fan of the club Med, but will never come back to this club. Perhaps with a better team the experience would have been better, but the quality of the ski will remain the same...

This is the first time we have holidayed with Club Med and overall the experience was good. Previously we had discounted it due to the high prices for a skiing holiday but have realised that everything you need ( Ski passes, equipment, lessons and all food and drink) is included in the price which makes it very competitive. The staff were very courteous and their English very good. All entertainment and instruction came in French but with English translation so was not a problem. The food was excellent, we'll presented, lots of variety and of a very high standard especially for a buffet service. The rooms as stated in previous reviews, are very small but clean and well maintained, though lack of hanging space for wet kit was a bit of a problem. The kids club was very well organised and got our little one to ski school every morning on time and with all of his kit. His ESF instructor, Pascale, was lovely and he enjoyed his lessons. The only problems we had were with the transport to and from the airport: on our arrival we were two hours into our journey to the resort when the drive realised he was going the wrong way which resulted in several extra hours journey without any apology. On our way back to the airport the driver ended up turning around at the bottom of the mountain having been told there were three more passengers that should have been on the bus. Other than this it was a good experienced enhanced by little touches such as the glass of wine and nibbles provided outside the hotel entrance when returning from the slopes at lunchtime, very welcome after a mornings hard work!

This was our first Club Med experience and it will definitely be on our radar for next time. The Hotel itself was well presented. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, led by Erik who kept a gentle but firm hand on the tiller. There were lots of little touches which made a big difference to our stay there.

As others have mentioned, the food was fantastic and there was so much of it as well! Lots of freshly cooked food, even though it was a buffet style affair. There were lots of snacks and cakes available before lunch and dinner, which helped as well! A couple of times we had a few treats in the morning, as we went out for a day of skiing and also on our return. All very welcome.

As a family of four, staying there with another family of three, we really enjoyed our experience.

A slight niggle might be that dinner only started at 7:30, whereas we've got a 4 1/2 year old who 'needs' to be in bed by 7:30.. But apart from that, we can't really fault the set up.

It was good fun and well planned and laid out. If you have a family with children from 8 or 9 onwards then you will certainly have a great time.

:)

There were at least two washing machines and two tumble driers on our floor. Possibly more, but we didn't really notice these. They are used by getting a token from reception (an extra cost).

Club med has got everything you would want and need. Having built plenty of ski holidays before by sorting all the elements myself, this was both an easier option and cheaper in the long run.

Rooms were fairly small but only slept in there as there was plenty to do elsewhere!

Food and drink was great. The ESF ski/board lessons that were included were excellent, 2.5 hours in the morning and 2.5 hours in the afternoon would have cost a fortune if organised separately. Wouldn’t have normally taken lessons, but thoroughly glad I did, met some great people and genuinely improved.

One of our group had a bad accident and the staff were excellent in handling lots of the logistics with the ski-patrol, hospital and arranged for him to get sent home. Very impressed with their above-and-beyond service.

Looking to visit various ski resorts but would definitely recommend and will return one day!
