We stayed here as a family on a skiing holiday and thoroughly enjoyed our stay - the food was the highlight, with excellent 3 course meals each evening that significantly exceeded our expectations of a 3-star hotel. The kids food was great as well and no request was too much trouble - the staff were all fantastic, friendly and helpful.

The hotel is well located towards the centre of the village, within easy walking distance of the slopes and main lifts. There are also ski shops adjacent to the slopes that offer boot/ski storage for those not wanting to carry their gear each day. We stayed on the 4th floor and didn’t have any problem with noise, apart from the snow plough at 5am!

The room we had was plenty large enough for all 4 of us, with bunk beds for our daughters. The beds were comfortable and room was very clean.

Our daughters loved the swimming pool, which is a 1.5m max depth with easy step entry. There is also a sauna in the pool area.

We really enjoyed our stay and would be very happy to stay at a Langley hotel in future.

We stayed at this hotel as part of a Crystal Ski trip - Ok, perhaps not quite as plush as some hotels, but that just made it more comfortable going to the bar for a swift happy hour beer in your ski gear.
As a group, we had one family room which was quite big and two twin rooms which were small, but all we needed was a bed and a shower, so they worked well.

We opted for half board and, to me, the food was very good - the chef clearly takes pride in the presentation, taste and flavours - although there is a set daily three-course menu which may not always be to everyone's taste - but again, the staff were pretty accommodating allowing members of the group to mix and match with the vegetarian option, kids deserts etc)

All in all, I can't fault the hotel, the staff were very friendly and there were plenty of them in the busy half term week and the location is great - I think we will be back next year!

Room Tip: The bigger rooms appear to be the family rooms at the front of the hotel and have a better view of the resort (at least on floor 4)

Good Stuff :

We had a great holiday as location of hotel is only 300 yds from main lifts.
We had a family room for 4 even though we were a 2, so no space issues.
Clean room.
Great views of mountains from Bar area.

Food was fair, but no menu choice.
Staff friendly.

Hotel badly needs refurbished.
Pool area signs of damp/mould on surfaces so we didn’t use.
Artex walls , roofs really date hotel.
Curtains falling off bedroom windows.
Road noise all day/night.
Delivery vehicles sit with engine running in mornings ( approx 5am most days)
We ate out 4 nights out of 7 as menu not to our taste.
Bar noise till 12.
TV didn’t work

Enough said ...as it could be good

We stayed here as a family of four for one week in February 2018, children are 8 and 5. It is a nice base to ski for the week with amazing views of the ski slopes from the front of the hotel in particular. The hotel is very near the town centre with municipal swimming pool, bars, restaurants, shops, cinema etc all very close. The main Jandri ski lift and nursery slopes are a manageable 5-10 minutes walk. The main downside is that the hotel is located on the main street/thoroughfare and the lack of double glazed windows means that the rooms at the front of the hotel are noisy by day and night. We found that this hotel was considerably cheaper than any others in Les Deux Alpes for the week that we stayed, which made it remarkable value for money; I am not sure if this price difference would always apply however.

As other reviewers have mentioned the food quality is superb. Decent choice of standard hot and cold food at breakfast and a really tasty three course dinner more than compensates for the lack of choice. The three course dinner changes each night but you don't get any choice re the menu; however the quality of the food is so good that this is unlikely to be a problem for most people. Our children also enjoyed their meals in the main, even though they are at an age where they can be choosy about food. The food quality is way above what you would expect from this standard of hotel in my opinion. The staff in the restaurant were also excellent and very obliging with any extra requests - we did sometimes ask for a second portion at dinner time and it was never a problem to provide this.

Our bedroom was easily able to accommodate the four of us. The children slept in bunk beds in an annexe near the bedroom door and bathroom; the adults slept in the main part of the room in twin beds that seem to be joined together. There was a bath and powerful shower and a separate toilet room and plenty of cupboard space. All of the family rooms are at the front of the hotel, and as other reviewers have commented, we found that there was some noise from revellers and vehicles - this would be a problem for light sleepers, or even average sleepers. We cannot urge the hotel strongly enough to invest in double glazing because it would make a big difference.

The hotel advertises itself as family friendly. However there seemed to only three or four families staying in the week that we were there, it was mostly couples and groups of friends. Although there is a kids club, it was inactive all week; my impression is that this kids club is probably dormant for most of the year. The bar has table football and some board games and the swimming pool was a big hit for our children. However the pool/sauna complex is a bit dingy and the lack of changing facilities makes it hard to use; you have to change in to your swimming costume in your bedroom and then walk through hotel corridors to get to the pool.

Room Tip: Higher floor family rooms are a bit quieter

Transfer from Chambery Airport approx. 2 hours took us through some lovely countryside and finally up through mountainous terrain with spectacular views. Hotel well located within short distance from nursery slopes and main lifts. (A short walk but not excessive).
Pleasant greeting from staff on reception upon arrival and initial room allocation changed to adjacent room that was slightly lighter, larger and next door to our holiday companions. Room located to rear with views up to Vallee Blanche were quiet, clean and functional.
Rooms not massive but adequate for our purposes of crashing out after a day on the slopes. The shower was excellent, water hot and fast flowing. Cleaners maintained rooms to a high standard on a daily basis.
One night there seemed to be a party in a room on a lower floor and after one of our party informed reception, the noise was stopped immediately. There followed a notice being placed on all floors, beside the lifts requesting guests respect others after 1000 p.m. and keep the noise down.
Breakfast was standard continental style and provided more than adequate opportunity to load up on calories etc in readiness for a day on the pistes. Evening meals were varied over the week of our stay and whilst not huge portions, were enough to satisfy our hunger without the feeling of being full prior to retiring for an early night (at our age, late night reveling was not on our agenda). The quality and style of the food was definitley not 3 star more a very good 4 star and we were very impressed and did not mind having a fixed menu as there was a veggie alternative , if needed. The free wine with dinner was also much appreciated.
The staff were at all times friendly and attentive. Numerous requests were seen to in a friendly and positive manner, well done.
The staff controlled any rowdy element in a friendly but assertive manner.
It is a 3 Star hotel and you receive what you pay for and to this end, our party were very satisfied with the overall service and facilities provided by this establishment.
One suggestion to help clients and in particular the staff on reception, is to create a another set of doors to the entrance of the hotel, to provided a lobby and thus stopping all the heat being lost outdoors. It must be very cold for those serving at reception.
Ski equipment hire. Our Crystal Rep sold us lift passes (initially 3 days only) on the coach costing Euros 2 more than the cost st the kiosk in the town. She also provided us with a price list for equipment, this we took with us to the Intersport shop opposite the Hotel and were able to negotiate a 10% discount on the Crystal quoted prices.

Room Tip: Quieter rooms higher up and to the rear.
