“Excellent Hotel, Friendly Staff, Good Deal”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 28, 2013

Our party of 6 male skiers had a good time at this hotel, the rooms were small to fit twin beds but this seems to be the norm in french hotels and beside we only needed some where to sleep as the main aim was to ski from opening of lift to closing of slopes.
The showers were hot and rooms cleaned daily. We were on the 4th floor at the back and these rooms seemed to be quite.
We used the pool, Jacuzzi and sauna at the end of the day. The pool was cold on the first few days as the water had been drained and refilled for maintenance which took time to heat up. The Jacuzzi was cooler on the 2nd day but we were told that if we let the management know when we were using it they would turn it up??
To keep the sauna hot we had to adjust the door to shut tighter, but once sorted this would get hot.
The best part was the all inclusive deal through Crystal, the drinks at the bar were free from 4pm to 10pm and the packed lunch included which meant we hardly spent any money.

The food was excellent with hot English breakfast, cereal, cheese and cold meats, the packed lunch which we collected from the upstairs section of the restaurant included drink, choice of sandwich, fruit & cake bar. We bought a soup at the restaurants on the slopes and ate with our packed lunch.
The evening meal was soup which was not always as hot as it could have been, salad bar with a wide selection, main course varied each night from pork, lamb, beef, chicken, spaghetti bolognase, and the sweets were assorted tarts, or mouses, with a cheese selection if you could eat any more.
The Manager Michelle is a character and must never sleep as he was up serving breakfast and still around the bar at the end of the night, every day.
He is very particular which can upset some people as seen in some comments below. We did have a run in with him when we were moved from our regular table with out notice when we went to get food, and given a table in the coldest part of the room but we treated this as a joke, and the next day were given a better table.
The rest of the staff were excellent and very helpfull
All in all this was an enjoyable holiday with good skiing and we would defiantly return to this hotel if we were to come back to Les 2 Aples

Got a last minute deal for this "all inclusive" hotel via Crystal Ski. For the price paid for the week I doubt we could have done better. The hotel is clean, has been modernised and was comfortable. What made it a great place to stay were all the staff who were friendly, cheerful and always helpful. Breakfast was great, packed lunch provided if you fancied it and dinners in the evening always filling if a bit bland. Free bar a real bonus at end of a longish days skiing. Our room at the back of hotel on 2nd floor was made up daily, warm (away from the window) and comfortable. Great hot shower! Only downside was outlook from window onto a flat roof and the supermarket air con units (I want a balcony!) and the freezing draft through the badly fitting window (-18C on one night) which was solved by tucking curtains onto window sill. Overall though I really enjoyed this hotel and staff made it great! Thanks again!

Room Tip: Maybe ask for a room above the second floor OR beg for a balcony room! (Think they may be reserved f...

Our stay at Brunerie started off very badly, on the first night the manager refused to serve the vegitarians in our party with any food. After complaining to Crystal we did get food from the second night but it was generally overcooked vegitables. Breakfasts and puddings were the highlight of the food, and the started buffet generally looked like last nights left overs.

The 'packed lunch' was a waste of time, by the end of the week we just collected bottles of water and gave up on the sandwiches.

The other staff in the hotel were very helpful and pleasant to deal with, except for a slightly scary shouting french man who came to fix the toilet in my room!

The hotel is fairly basic, but clean, and the beds comfortable.

Room Tip: the 4th floor is generally noisy due to the staff rooms above, the rooms at the front of the hotel h...

Dear Customer,
First we would like to thank you for the comment you posted on Tripadvisor. We are sorry for that first bad start. However as you arrived at 9.30pm (normally the restaurant is closed at this hour) and that manager was not aware about vegetarian's people staying this week, you will easily understand that it is difficult to "be ready". For the following days, hotel managed to do some vegetarians dishes, as in fact, there were 9 vegetarians people ! We do apologize and we rely on your comprehension.
Kind regards

We stayed at the Brunerie last week on a skiing holiday booked through Crystal.
Our room was really good, spacious, clean, comfortable beds and a clean en suite. The bar was really good with lots of guests mixing and sharing ski stories. The food in the main was excellent although the soup tended to be quite cold if you went down to dinner a bit later.
The best thing about the hotel? Undoubtedly the staff - simply excellent! Every member of staff was cheery, very helpful, knowledgeable about the hotel and area and couldn't do enough for us.
The hotel is centrally located, very close to the slopes and lifts. We would definately stay again.

Room Tip: None of the guests I spoke to had any problem with any of their rooms.

We booked the hotel via Thomsons/Crystal Ski on the all-inclusive deal. We normally use Club Med and paid approximately 2/3 of their price for this holiday (although ski lessons are not included with Crystal Ski). We expected that we would be making some compromises with the accommodation this year. However, the reception was well staffed, friendly and efficient. The room was on a par with the best of the Club Med ones we have had, better than most and well serviced every day. The restaurant was great, with a mezzanine area for a more intimate dinner. The service was extremely friendly and efficient, with all of the staff speaking good English and being gracious with our attempts at French. The food at breakfast and dinner was excellent and packed lunches were included.
The bar is modern with a super open fire. It looks too small at first but we got a seat every time we went in there and never queued behind more than one person to get a drink. The layout encourages sharing of the day's skiing exploits with other guests.
The hotel is very convenient for the "snow front" and has its own ski room. However, to avoid carrying skis, we rented ski locker space adjacent to the main lift.
Bottom line is that we really enjoyed our stay and would absolutely not hesitate to stay there if we visit Les Deux Alpes again.

Myself and a mate stayed at the La Brunerie for a week Jan '13 and couldn't have been happier. Top floor room which was adaquate size and very clean, it was very hot but we keep the window open using an empty coke can. The bathroom was a little small but the shower was great, hot and powerful.
The food served was bloody lovely, lots of choice for starters, lovely soup different each day, main course was always hot and tasty, and the deserts were superb, loads to choice from. Plus as much wine or beer if you want it.
The all inclusive bar from 4 - 10 was ideal, beer was good, whisky, gin, wines all good, the rum however was terrible !!
The pool was a little cold, the jacuzzi wasn't great either but the sauna was great after a days boarding.
The staff we thought were all very polite and helpful and Michelle (Basil Faulty), the manager or owner ?? was a real character.
All in all it's a great hotel, great location to get to the lifts or the bars in town, great food, nice clean tidy rooms and a good atmosphere.
Would recommend and would love to stay here again.

Booked the Hotel Bruneire through Crystal Ski for 4 friends snowboarding. Great transfers and information given by the reps can't fault them. The hotel was lovely and modern on arrival, quick to check us in. Rooms clean, spatious, very warm. Excellent bathroom/shower, clean towels provided daily. We had a family room, the bunk beds separated by a door as described feel a little like you are sleeping in the corridor directly outside the toilet/bathroom so it's a little cramped for adults but the main room has plenty of space, comfy beds, large balcony.
The hotel has a boot room with heated sticks to dry your boots after a day on the slopes and a secure room for the boards, the hotel also provided padlocks to ensure safety.
Free bar is great, but does stop at 10pm. Staff are extremely friendly and a lot of fun, they were kind enough to take us out one night and show us the resort which is lively if not expensive for drinks! Hotel manager has a charm to him and kept us all entertained with his lively persona.
Food was generally fine, lots of choice at breakfast and dinner, packed lunches are adequate to keep you going through the day.
Only issue we had was that all 4 of us picked up a stomach bug through the week. Admittedly I did not tell the reps or hotel as it was a little embarrassing, and I was not sure whether it was a virus or the food. However by the end of the week it was a common problem among a number of other guests that was spoken about in jest. None of our party missed a day on the slopes, however I would say this was due to perseverence through occasional stomach cramps and the wonder of immodium!!
Generally a lovely hotel and great staff, I feel bad having to mention the stomach bug but it did take the edge off an otherwise fantastic holiday!
