Nice Chalet, very nice staff, good food = 5 courses and I noticed there was a childrenmenu too. Fine beds and lining. Wonderful background music. A long way from the center which was wonderful because it was very quiet during the night. A very very short stroll over a small road to the first skiing slope and lift.
The only thing to complain about is that in connection with the sauna and the pools there were no showers. Number one "Sauna rule" in my country, which is Finland, is that you have to take a shower before you enter a sauna or a pool. In this case you had to take the shower in your room. Not very practical. I plan to go there again hopefully with my whole family, they all like to ski or board, totally 13 persons with the grandchildren included, because I really loved the place in every respect. For my dauhter with 4 kids the separate Chalet with 6 beds would be perfect for them. Regards to Tierry, the owner with much sense of humor !

We have never been to the same hotel twice, ever! But following a fantastic stay in January 2011 we decided to go back to Hotel Chalet Alpage for the second time this season and it was just as wonderful the second time around.

The hotel is small enough for Thierry and his staff to remember you (even a year on) and they all make you extremely welcome. The facilities and rooms are excellent, the lounge, bar and restaurant are cosy with great food from a daily fixed menu. You can sit in your slippers and relax! Just make sure you ask Thierry for a mug of chocolat chaud with his "secret" ingredient - you will be hooked!

If you want a ski in, ski out location in a beautiful, quiet position for a truely relaxing holiday this is the place for you...this place deserves its number 1 position and we will be booking again for 2013!

We stayed here for a 2 week skiing holiday in Jan/Feb 2011. We made our choice based on the trip advisor reviews and we were in no way disappointed - we can only agree with all the other previous reviews - it was perfect for us and we can't praise this chalet highly enough.
The owner Thierry is a great character and he makes this place really special.

The Chalet is approximately 3Km outside of La Clusaz so it's not ideal if you are a party animal looking to make the most of the local nightlife! However if you are looking for half board accommodation with fantastic food and a cosy, relaxing atmosphere then this place is ideal.......we stayed here for 2 weeks and we didn't tire of the food.......the meals prepared by Philippe the chef were superb and you could see he took great pride in pleasing everyone with his fantastic cuisine.........especially on the 'special meal' nights, these were great and very memorable.

Although outside of La Clusaz, Hotel Chalet Alpage is right beside an easy green ski run which leads right to the centre of La Clusaz and the main ski lift area so it is ideal - easy to ski back to at the end of the day too. There is also a ski bus which stops directly opposite the hotel........I can't remember how often the ski bus was but there was a timetable available at reception and we never had any issues with waiting too long for a bus into town.

There is great attention to detail throughout the whole chalet, in my opinion everything is perfect. The outside hot tub is great and the sauna is very welcoming after a days skiing...........as is the delightful bar and lounge area with the roaring log fire.

In summary we loved the Hotel Chalet Alpage and certainly recommend it to anyone looking for outstanding accommodation & service in a beautiful location. We don't usually go back to the same ski resort twice as we like to try new places..........but we might make an exception for the Alpage!

After reading numerous reviews on Tripadvisor we decided to stay at Chalet Alpage for 5 days in July and I can safely say we were not disappointed.

Location wise the hotel was spot-on with beautiful views all around. The place is incredibly quiet and close to the start of many great walks.

We made use of the swimming pool and sunbathing area every day and the hot tub is especially a great way to relax after a long day's walk!

Thierry and his staff were great fun and make you feel very welcome. Nothing was too much trouble.

Our room was lovely with great views from a large balcony. Very clean and nicely decorated with modern facilities.

The food was first-class and delicious! Varied every night and very well presented.

Overall a great hotel in a lovely part of France which I would highly recommend to anyone!

We stayed at Chalet Alpage for 4 nights in early Feb 2011. Chose the hotel based on Trip Advisor reviews and inital email contact with the owner, Thierry, who was very helpful. The hote definitely lives up to the reviews and the photos are representative of the hotel. Rooms were really nice, clean, all facilities you'd need, and the beds was very big and comfortable. We had a room on the first floor with a small balcony overlooking the green run at the rear of the hotel. A small wooden staircase in the room led to a mezzanine floor with a single bed and TV, ideal for a child travelling with parents. Thierry was very helpful in showing us the other rooms in the hotel as we will almost certainly return next year with our young daughter. The boot room was warm and dry and there is a drag lift on the other side of the road from the hotel. The food was really good, breakffast was buffet style with a lot of choice, and evening meal was 5 delicious courses. The atmosphere in the small restaurant was quiet and relaxing. We will definitely return to Chalet Alpage!

We went to this hotel for six nights this month and booked on the basis of the other reviews below. Hotel was just lovely. Great run down on the green piste beside the hotel to the village every morning. The staff were lovely. Thierry, the owner, is such a great character. All the other reviews say all the rest. I would definitely recommend this place.

Part of my career over the past decade has required that I travel around the world and experience hotel living. With that in mind I have to say that my fabulous experience at Hotel Chalet Alpage easily rates in my top 5 memories.

The hospitality was sincere, the surrounding snow covered mountains were perfect for the people who were there to ski or myself who is more of a wandering explorer. The chalet is a perfect distance from the village which makes it just close enough to access and yet still the chalet is removed from the 'hussle & busstle' but not completely secluded.

The food was excellent, well balanced and very nicely presented. We enjoyed the sauna and the outdoor Jacuzzi at night with a full view of the valley and mountains!

I could go on but I think you get the jist of the sort of experience we had. Such a fantastic place in the world with really a great team managing the full experience. I highly recommend it and look forward to going back again myself!
