Generous room size, clean and tidy. Two good size wardrobes, big enough to get your suitcases into. Plenty hot water, towels and toiletries in the bathroom. Breakfast the usual cold collection of ham, cheese, breads and fruit. No hot option (unless you boil your own egg!). Restaurant for lunch and dinner a bit of a let down. Same menu for lunch and dinner for each of the 5 days we stayed. Ate there only once. Food nice enough, but not nice enough to eat the same thing 4 nights in a row ! Also disappointing that there is no snack menu available at all, either for lunch or room service (no sandwiches, burgers etc.)
View from front facing balconies very nice onto the pistes on the opposite side of town. Took about 10 minutes to walk downhill into town and walking back up in ski boots would have been horrid - take advantage of the free ski and boot locker at Ski Service 2000 in the Place De L'Eglise.
Lots of nice restaurants in town, but avoid Le Bistrot in Hotel Christiana. Looks lovely but typical 'french' service ie. non, monsieur may not have well cooked steak and non, madame you may not have cognac with your cafe gourmand (even though the menu describes it as being served with a digestif) you can only have genepi. Have you tried genepi? Urgh!
La Clusaz lovely. Hotel Carlina ok. Avoid Le Bistrot.

Very happy with the hotel and it's excellent staff - food was good value and fabulous and whilst some parts of the hotel are a little tired I found this charming and not at all off-putting.
We would return and would recommend!
Oh and had the best massage ever...great little spa.

I have mixed feelings about Hotel Carlina. Some aspects were good, other not so much. Should I return to La Clusaz I would probably look elsewhere.

Pros:
- sensational views from the room and dining room
- helpful and hardworking staff
- excellent breakfast with a good variety and constantly replenished
- recently renovated bathroom

Cons:
- the rooms are pretty tired. Some aspects look hardly touched since 1970's
- no mini bar or coffee/tea making facilities in the room. Very poor
- a bit of a walk from the main lifts and town square. Not the end of the world but there are many closer options
- tiny combination shower/bath. Quiet hard to maintain balance while having a shower

We stayed here for one night before going to the Snow Avant Premier Board Test in La Clusaz. The room was very comfortable and the staff were very welcoming and helpful. We ate in the hotel restaurant for dinner, the food was amazing and it was the same again at breakfast! The spa and pool was very relaxing and that was one of the highlights of the stay! We would definitely stay here again!

Room tip: We had a rear facing room which was very quiet.

Stayed here in the Easter Holidays with family and friends. The room was modern with a mezzanine which was great for my son. The evening meals were amazing, fantastic French food. Nothing was too much trouble and options available for children. The location and staff all great.
Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.
