We were a large and somewhat rowdy group. The food was great and the service matched this! A lovely night.

Booking is essential here, as is either a large appetite or don't eat all day. This is a very popular restaurant and you can certainly see why. Traditional family run restaurant with a huge menu. But don't let the menu put you off as you can simply order a set menu and then sit back and enjoy a leisurely dinner with friends.

This is somewhere to take your time over dinner. The portions are huge. If thee are a few of you, the meat platter start is shared on one huge dish and accompanied with plenty of pickles as well. One of the simplest but bets starters you can ask for. Just try not to eat everything as the main courses aren't exactly small either. These were all perfectly cooked and packed with flavour as well. The cheese board is excellent as well and more than enough for the most ardent cheese lover. Not surprisingly the selection is heavy on local produce and very good it is to.

What you get is surprisingly good value as well. Definitely needs to be on your list of places to eat if you are in the area. I was fortunate to have my birthday here and my friends had organise a birthday cake. A huge chocolate cake that was perfect. Cannot imagine not coming back again if we are in the area.

The restaurant is in a wonderful setting ,an elegant and rustic at the same time family hotel.
Everyone is friendly, helpful and the service is very quick. When you enter on your right you'll be able to see the big kitchen with everyone working hard .
The choices on the menu are many, you can either have the menu of the day or a huge a la carte menu. Be ready to see big portions ! Their ham ,prepared and aged by a family member will come in a big serving dish together with a huge tray with pickles of any kind ,freshly made butter and a big bowl of mixed salad that would easily feed 4 people! The tasty meat terrine was enough as a main with lots of fresh and crunchy vegetables.
If you choose a main,I suggest the perfectly cooked fois gras or the pigeon ,but you will not be able to afford the huge dessert that we saw on other people's tables.
If you are a cheese lover don't miss their Luge of cheeses all local as you are in the right area !
Very good prices.

What a shame! Super food, really very good but waiting 3 hours for three courses was far from acceptable. Drinks we ordered never came, we gave up on the cheese course and coffee and asked for the bill where the drinks that never arrived we're listed! We were told people came from Geneva to eat here. Surely a quality establishment would pay attention to service? A sad let down.

The hotel is a lovely old wooden structure, and the restaurant looks very traditional inside. The portions were huge and the value for money great, especially as the quality was very high. We all had a great evening and went home very full. Our waiter spoke good English and advised us well on the extensive wine list.
