Huge thanks to June, Ian and Flash for a fabulous holiday within the luxury of Chalet Namika. It was wonderful to be able to ski in and ski out with plenty of warm storage for skis and boots. We were able to enjoy chilling in the hot tub and steam room after a great days skiing.
It was an absolute pleasure to be cooked for each day and to be collected from the bus stop and ski shop - anything to avoid walking up hills with ski bags or walk in ski boots! It was also so helpful to have your ski passes provided enabling you to get straight out onto the ski slopes!
June and Ian provide such a lovely atmosphere and are so helpful which means we will definately strive to return next year - Thankyou x
We stayed here with family and friends over the February half term. The chalet is truly “ski in/ski out”, as you step out of the boot room at the bottom of the chalet on to an easy “green” slope down to a couple of the main chair lifts that give access to the resort. It is also an easy ski home from La Folie Douce, which is nearby.
The chalet is spacious and homely, very comfortable and well equipped. The views from the balconies are spectacular.
The best thing, however, were the chalet hosts. Ian, June and Flash the dog. They took exemplary care of us all week. We could not have asked for better or more welcoming and accommodating hosts. By the end of the week it felt like we had made new friends, not simply had a nice stay. All the little touches and simple kindnesses shown throughout the week added up to make for a really first rate holiday.
Every meal was delicious, by the way!
A truly excellent experience all round, thank you again Team Namika!!
This chalet was a perfect setup for 3 families each with 2 children. Ian and June were perfect hosts and looked after us extremely week. High tea for the children was a bonus meaning the children were fed and ready for bed before the adults ate. The chalet is in a prime location for ski in and out even for non confident skiers. You can ski down to one of the main lifts within a few minutes. Would highly recommend this chalet.
Ian and June looked after us very well, and with good spirit. The chalet is very well setup and maintained, not far out of town, and right alongside a run, and Flash allowed us to share his sofa mournfully (the gentle giant). A great week skiing.
This is a beautiful, luxury, well equipped chalet with lovely views and in a great location. The hosts Ian and June were amazing, not forgetting Flash of course. Nothing was too much trouble; from taking us to ski lessons, to organising equipment hire and ski passes, which was great for someone fairly new to skiing. There was ample space for our large ski party and the food was great. Having a hot tub and sauna provided a welcome break after a day on the ski slopes.
Would thoroughly recommend and would love to visit again.
This was my first time in Alpe D’Huez and I think Chalet Namika provided the perfect base for our group of 12 adults of mixed ability.
It’s a lovely comfortable chalet with plenty of seating and a great log fire which we had on most afternoons to accompany our cake, post ski!
The bedrooms are more than adequate and the two Largest ones are particularly good with ample storage - something you don’t always get.
Ian and June are excellent hosts, often going the extra mile to accommodate trips to ski equipment shops, and see to dietary needs.
It is a ski in, ski out location, with the run to the lifts being a gentle green. In looking around at other possible locations I believe this crop of chalets or the very top of town near DMC lift is the only place I would consider basing myself in this resort - if you want to avoid Slow lobster pots up though town or a walk. We didn’t do the walk into town in the evenings finding that our group and plenty of wine in the chalet was enough after a long days skiing.
The food was very good and plentiful and wine flowed freely throughout the meals.
Overall I highly recommend Chalet Namika and would be back in future years.
We were a group of 12 friends who stayed 4th Feb 2018 for a week . The location is literally on the slope. Ian and June are so helpful in every way, running beginners to ski school and people with uncomfy boots to the ski shop etc. Its set in a quiet position with beautiful views and large rooms with good cupboard storage rare in chalets! Go and try this as you will not be disappointed!
