We booked through igluski (UK) as a party of 4 (guys) and the first 'surprise' upon arrival was the tiny double room in lowest level assigned to 2 of us plus 2 twins in a nearby room. It seemed to surprise the Rep that we needed 2 rooms X 2 twins and it turned into a blame game: "Igluski didn't tell us, etc." Beds were finally moved around. Will (chalet host) did a reasonable job with the meals although portions were small (including the smallest eggs this side of a hummingbird), seconds were never offered, and refills of bread and juice were always on-request, never anticipated. Bring your own porridge if you want it. Main likes: virtually ski in/ski out; great sauna; comfortable beds (once sorted). Main dislikes: small portions, Rep was useless/never seen, some distance to village (shuttle ends at 6 pm). No 'honour bar' or pre-dinner drinks provided. Consider booking equipment in advance via snowbrainers.co.uk. Nearest shop was Sport 2000 in Berger (new village) with superb staff. Nearby 'Resturant altiport' for chalet host day off was a real treat - walking disitance, too.

Room Tip: Avoid lower level (basement) bedrooms. Upper rooms larger.

Christmas 2012, after an exhausting 24 hour delayed flight we arrived at a chilly Anika 2 only to find one large double room and one medium double room and four hobbit size rooms which caused a dilemma for 7 adults and 5 large teens. Hot tub did`nt work till our 3rd day , TV not working , no DVD player. Food was on seriously small rations, wine very poor quality, no mulled wine, shortage of towels. Chalet overall too small for a group of twelve, definitley not a pretige service as promised and paid for. Ski france altered our original chalet choice four weeks prior to departure no other option offered .

Room Tip: There is only one really good room !!!!!!!

We stayed in the Chalet Altiport group of chalet's 5th - 12th January 2013. These chalet's are mostly ski in ski out and for this benefit the chalet's are located a little out of town.

The walk in to Alpe D'huez main town is about 20 minutes. There are free buses that run frequently though so it's not too bad. In short you have to decide what you want the most, the bars on your doorstep or the snow for ski in ski out.

The chalets are well appointed. They are warm, the showers are good and most either have a sauna or hot tub or both. Main tip: Upstairs there is one bedroom that is massive with a spa bath and double sinks , huge wardrobes etc. The other rooms are just about adequate for twin beds and a small wardrobe.

Our tour operator was Ski France and they were good. More personal service I would say than the likes of Crystal.

Would I go back? Yep! I'd go for ski in ski out anytime.

Alpe D'Huez is an excellent ski resort.

Room Tip: Head upstairs for the big double.

Stayed at the chalets on a self catering basis in Jan booked through Zenith Holidays. Had a great time and the service provided by Zenith was really good - even getting the local rep in resort to give us a call three days before to tell us about the snow conditions and answer any queries we had before we left. When we were there the rep came to take us to the supermarket too. The chalet was great and any niggles were just minor niggles - a lamp shade missing here and there for example. But they were clean and well equipped and ski in/out on a green run so even those totally new to skiing were able to ski to the door from day two!

Stayed in Altiport Chalets from the 21st Jan12 in Les Campanules.

Great Chalet. We had two amazing hosts in Diane and Steven. The food which they served up was great (except for one intresting onion soup)

The chalet has a jacuzzi and sauna on the ground floor which was brilliant as it was great to relax in after a day on the slopes.

The Chalet offers ski to the door which was great too.

Could not recommend more!

Room Tip: Make sure you request a room with an ensuite as some do not have showers.

We stayed at the chalet "Diane" in 'Les Chalets de l'Altiport' from 21 jan till 28 jan 2012. Chalet Diane is a 14 - 16 persons chalet with balcony and a garage.

This wasn't our first chalet we rented in France and we were all very pleased with the level of comfort and, above all, the very spacious living room. At arrival the chalet was very tidy (this hasn't always been the case in other chalets we've rented elsewhere).

The arrangement of the rooms could have been slightly better I suppose. There were 2 large (1 of them being "very large") and 2 rather small rooms. The other ones were of a normal size. In the bedrooms on the bottom floor there were no lights but this problem was very quickly resolved.

The chalet 'Diane' is located next to the reception and from the slopes one can ski right into the chalet! I'm not joking! In the morning when you start your skiingday, it only takes 15 meters to reach the slope to the 'Quartier Bergers' from where the whole 'Grand Domaine' can be reached.
If you are looking for a "next to the bars and shop" accomodation, then search elsewhere. The chalet is located at about a 20minute walk from the 'Quartiers Bergers' (with shops and bars etc) and even further from the town center. This shouldn't be a big problem however since there are free busses from and to the town center.
We usually took our own car when we went après-skiing or grocery shopping.

Every morning there's a freshly baked bread delivery right at your chalet front door.
Which is very convenient!

A major dissapointment however was the lack of a WIFI-network. It is 2012 after all. And I clearly wasn't the only one in the hamlet complaining about this.
I must however give a thumbs up to Romain, the caretaker, who was very helpfull and understanding. He did more than his job required him to do and was always very helpfull. I was honestly dissapointed about the lack of WIFI and I suppose it will be installed within the next months. Be sure to buy a pre-paid mobile broadband modem in case WIFI hasn't been installed yet.

All in all, this was a very nice accomodation and I recommend it highly.
We already talked about going back since we were so pleased (IF they'll install WIFI).

Considering the resort, considering the price, considering the location, considering all the other chalets we already rented in the past; I'd say : Don't hesitate, rent this chalet (Diane).
And say hello to Romain :-)

Room Tip: There are 2 very large bedrooms. Be sure to be the first to arrive and to get them. ;-)

We went and stayed at the Chalet Edelweiss in the Altiport and enjoyed the hosts and the hot morning breakfast. Rooms were clean with a nice view, sauna wasn't as we expected but was adequate, We enjoyed the 15 min walk to Les Bergers and did not mind having to carry our stuff, however next time will try a more "luxury" trip closer to the slopes :)... Great value for the money!
