“Great crepes and vin chaud, beautiful views”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 6, 2013

Signal 2108 is in a beautiful location in the Alpe d'Huez area. It has a very modern design, with lots of comfortable seating and very clean facilities. We stopped once for a vin chaud and a second tiem for crepes.

The vin chauds were very reasonably priced (€3.10 ish) and were made to order.

We found that we were waiting quite a long time for our crepes, but they were definitely worth the wait!

“Great views”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 17, 2013

Easily accessible with great views over the whole resort. Deckchairs outside in the sun are great. Inside is warm. Service ok but slightly erratic at busy times. Costs are average for the slopes - €4 for a small beer, €3.50 for a coke and hot chocolate. Nice toilets.

“Exceptionally good for a ski resort restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 15, 2013

Brand new and very (too much ?) design, Signal 2108 replaces a nice, traditional place that was occupying same spot till last year. Clearly, the ambition of the new owner goes well beyond setting up a traditional ski resort feeding place - it is a full fledged restaurant, very smartly designed, with a bar/snack on the ground floor (sandwiches, pasta, salads, etc) but a true gem is the first floor with small but truely gastronomic restaurant - strangely, you will have there two menus but all is coming from the same kitchen, run by an inventive chef - gravlax on the thin waffle, home made foie gras (really tastes like home made), crawfish cannelloni but also few 'revisited' traditional specialities from Alpes - we had a delicious raclette with dried beef.

As a dessert, blueberry pie was excellent as well as a home made and still warm muffin (you need to pick it up from the snack bar, as to available upstairs).

Another great idea is a ski boot dryer available to the guests (and warm slippers available in the meantime) - lucky enough, it was quite late and the place was rather empty, I do it know how it works when restaurant is full...

All in, quite unusual place to find on the top of the slopes - but good to have it here.
