This property is quite a mixed bag. It is rated by Ski World as 4 star plus. I think this is definitely too high. The plus points are, it is in a good location, ski in, ski out. Not so good if you want to spend time in the town of Alpe Dhuez, which is a good walk away, or you can catch the bus. The rooms are standard ski chalet size, i.e small, but good enough. There was always plenty of hot water, and the hot tub was nice. There was a nice balcony which we enjoyed as we had very sunny weather. The food was plentiful, and overall pretty good. The major gripe with this chalet was the soundproofing. Before booking this chalet I had read a review which did mention the soundproofing so I rang the holiday company and specifically asked them if this was an issue. Their reply was that they had not had any formal complaints regarding the soundproofing. So we decided to book albeit with some trepidation. I was right to be concerned. We were a group of 9 people, and the only ones who didn't have issues with soundproofing were the couple in room 2. Everyone else could hear conversatons and worst of all, everything going on in the next door bathroom, and I mean everything!
This chalet was not a budget option, in fact it is our fourth chalet holiday and the most expensive to date. It was also the poorest standard. I wrote to ski world on our return, as we had not had a good experience overall. The transfers to and from the airport, were chaotic, n fact the return journey was positively dangerous. They have offered me a 10% discount on next years holiday. I won't be taking them up on it.
This chalet is ok if you get if at a really good price. We payed around £800 per person per week. It is only worth about £550. This is based on my previous ski holidays.
