“An excellent hotel”
Reviewed June 19, 2013

We used this hotel for the overflow of guests attending a wedding at a nearby hotel. Our guests could not speak more highly of the staff, the service and how welcome they felt when staying at the hotel. The hotel staff were a pleasure to deal with, the booking process very easy and they were very accommodating to ensure that gifts and information were put in the guest rooms prior to their arrival. I would recommend the hotel without hesitation and we will even be sending one of our crew to stay as a gift for his hard work

Recently spent a wonderful 2 nights in this beautiful hotel set off the main road in a quiet lane overlooking the bay of St Tropez. The hotel has been nenovated and restored to a very high standard without losing the charm and beauty of the original building. The hotel, gardens and pool are maintained to a very high standard and the decor is simple, chic and stylish. Our room was contemporary, stylish and comfortable with a door leading out to a garden patio with a small table and chairs, leading on to the main garden area with sun loungers and then up a few steps to the crystal clear and inviting pool, with an outdoor restaurant area to the side - all overlooking the bay. The pretty, hilltop, historic village of Gassin is just above where the hotel is located. We were able to drive into St Tropez in about 10 minutes (going early morning meant missing the inevitable traffic queues which must get worse as the season gets underway) and could enjoy the lively port before returning to the tranquility of La Bastide d'Antoine. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We would most definitely go again.

Room Tip: Our room backed on to the garden and overlooked the sea and was at ground level. I didn't go in...

Me and my fiancé booked this hotel and from the photos it seems you are going in a luxury boutique property in a fantastic location...when we turn on the street after seeing the sign we saw garbage and fields with construction work. you get outside of the hotel and you can see it needs maintenance even if they state it as been renovated. Before unloading the suitcases we wanted to check out the property because did not look like what we booked. We arrived and there was a cat that is part of the property that had a bad smell. we check out the swimming pool and was dirty and needs to be repaired far from the photos of the website. we ask to see our room that was supposed to be a superior room with sea view of 30 square meters...well the Extremely rude receptionist that had really an attitude problem showed us a room of 20 sm and not the one we booked and the room was damp and smelled with AC problems. At this point we did not want to check-in because this is not what we paid for EURO 1470.00 for 4 nights...we drove for over 2 hours from Cannes with bumper to bumper traffic to get to a property that is totally misrepresented. When we advised that we did not want to check-in the RUDE receptionist said they that she will charge the entire stay because in penalty and not even apologizing or finding a solution. She went ahead to charge the card and we made a chargeback because this is totally not ok.
If you book a property that from the photos is totally different in standards then when you get there with all the issues of also hygiene...i will upload the photos ....and the rude receptionist that needs to find another job....customer service is essential in the hotel business. i have worked in hotels for 15 years and now have also a travel company in Beverly Hills where my clients are the most precious element and go that extra mile for them...the way the property was misrepresented and the ruddiness of the receptionist there was no way we could stay here...we took pictures and filled up the gas in Gassin and started to find another solution along the Cote D'Azur.
From a professional and personal point of you this is not a LUXURY ACCOMODATION as they describe it. They had probably renovated rooms but what we saw was nothing luxury as they state in there description on the website.
We live in Beverly Hills and use to the word luxury and we are far from that. Its is very important to State the Facts and be realistic..its not about making the money but it is about cherishing the client that pays money to stay in a certain kind of hotel and then finds all these problems. You travel across the world you drive for 2hours and you find yourself in this kind of property it is totally not ok.
Be realistic..update the photos on your website with the real photos of our your hotel looks like..the cat, the pool..the old not renovated rooms.

Room Tip: Stay elsewhere..the property was not in good condition.

Beware Traveler!!!!
This hotel is a Scam!!!!
The hotel is in a terrible location surrounded by construction and trash.
The staff is very rude.
The pool is very dirty and is not swimmable.
The hotel sold us a luxury room on line and then tried to check us into a smaller older room in the rundown side of the hotel. They sold us a 30meter updated room and tried to give us a 22 meter old room that smelled of smoke with a broken Air conditioning. They did not even try to accommodate us and were very rude and charged us for $2,000 for a 4 day stay and we did not even check in!!!
The hotel entrance has smelly cats with fleas!!!!

TRAVELER BEWARE !!!

Room Tip: Choose a different hotel. This hotel is very dirty and most of the main space is run down!!

We visited St Tropez for dinner a few weeks ago and thrilled to go back again and have the opportunity to stay overnight. Bastide d'Antoine is an absolute gem. Having dinner in the hustle & bustle of the port, the myriad different people strolling by, the amazing sights and sounds, the crazy, passionate pulse of that glamorous place, it's had to believe that less than 3 miles down the road in Gassin is the beautiful and serene Bastide d'Antoine. Picture perfect - all rustic French furnishings with modern contemporary touches. Set just off the main road into St Tropez with views down to the sea and the boats below. Beautiful pool.We were lucky enough to have a first floor room with own terrace - where we sat and drank a glass of ice cold champagne before going into town for dinner. Utterly romantic hotel and ideal for couples offering just right mix of privacy and friendliness. Breakfast was divine - lots of sweet things, pastries and amazing plum tart, also cold cuts, cereals and warm, fresh bread, all served round the pool with those fantastic views of the sea. Really unforgettable place and so charming in comparison to its flashy 5 star brother and sisters up the road.

Room Tip: Try and get the first floor room with terrace . ..
