We travelled four and a half hours by train (and back) just to have the gourmet lunch at the "le pirate". Excellent food, nice staff and very good value for money.

Very nice setting with stylish interior décor and relaxed outdoor seating, impeccable service, warm welcome by chef Frank Salamon and his wife, who come out to greet all diners every time. And most important, the food is excellent: mostly seafood (but meats and others available too), the menu mixes traditional dishes with nouvelle cuisine (but in appropriate portions), with regular new creations by the chef. And prices are extremely affordable, with a five course menu (you get to choose the items, they are not pre-set) for just EUR 40.

“Great food”
Reviewed September 15, 2008

This is NOT a fish & chips place despite the tripadvisor category. This is an excellent seafood restaurant. Be prepared for eating lots as part of the set menus, which are approx 40eur. I have been here a number of times and the food has always been excellent. The service, as in a lot of French restaurants, is slow and they are reluctant to provide tap water.
