Nice hotel. We had a family room. Its was big. The breakfast food was always fresh. We like a free wifi and free parking. TV had only one English and one Russian news channels. We had one dinner at hotel restaurant and it was perfect.

I was looking for a good hotel, near 3 Valley skiing area. The hotel was just right. It is not in the hart of the ski towns which suits me fine. At the same time Meribel is easily accessible. There is a lift; a 10 minutes walk that will take you to the slopes.
The hotel offers a steam room and jacuzzi (but not sauna). The lobby, rooms and common area looked freshly remodelled. The restaurant is actually quite nice but the service can be better. The breakfast is good with plenty of fresh pastry, eggs and some fruit, in other words the usual. The dinner is fine as well. Lets put it this way it is the best you will find in this town. One day I got some mystery desert instead of what I ordered. They lost our dinner reservations but found them after a slight delay. The hotel managers are very polite and accommodating, others try. I liked it.

Great hotel, nice room on 5th floor with view up the valley. We enjoyed the food (breakfast and evening meals). The staff were very kind and we were served our food by a very sweet Russian waitress who was there doing an internship!

Room tip: There was a lift but there was a problem for a couple of hours when it wasn't working. Might be a problem for the less able.

We never actually managed to stay here but my husband booked and paid for 2 rooms for 6 nights (total 1860 Euro) at 9:52pm on 19th January. He then realised immediately that it was in the wrong location for the kids ski schools. He tried to cancel the following morning, 20th January at 8am (10 hours later). We were told no one was available to deal with the request until Monday (4 days later). Finally we heard that the manager would refund 50% but was going to keep the other 930 Euro. We were expecting to pay a cancellation admin fee around 150 euro but not lose out on 930 euro. We then asked if we could keep the rooms for one night on 16th Feb (the last night of our holiday). It took from 23rd Jan until 6th February (2 weeks) for them to acknowledge our request (phone calls and emails being ignored) and finally the answer was 'NO'. So our experience cost us 930 Euro with nothing in return. I can confirm that whilst the Receptionist is very polite the service and the way we we're treated was appalling.

Dear Ms. Bignell,

Before attempting to explain the reasons leading to this situation, we would like to apologise to you for the inconvenience this may have caused all parties involved.

Customer satisfaction is something that we take very seriously. Unfortunately, standard procedure, must be apply when guests booked the non refundable / non cancellable conditions. In such cases as yours, we have tried to give you and your husband a solution that works for both you and our establishment.

After a, thorough review of this case, these are the answers and solution we were able to find, and in turn offer you.

When you and your husband booked the 2 rooms for 6 nights (from the 23rd to the 29th of January) on the Booking website, the conditions were very clearly stated as a non-refundable, non-cancellable rate. If you had not wanted this condition, you were also able to choose another rate with conditions that were much more flexible.
Indeed, you are right to say that we were not able to treat your request in the briefest delay, since our director was on a business trip, thus making it not possible to give you a direct answer. (Forcing us to all wait 4 days for his return).
However, upon arrival your dossier was consulted with utmost speed and care. The director then immediately contacted Booking to try to sort the situation out. With this we then accepted to reimburse you 50% of your entire deposit. Which normally is not a procedure commonly followed, since you had chosen a non-refundable, non-cancellable rate.

To answer your comment about why we were not able to re-offer you your room: It is simply because once you had cancelled your reservation, we were authorised to make the room rentable. This again is a standard procedure.

The entire team at The Golf Hotel hopes that you may understand this procedure, other institutions would have retained the entire sum

The Golf Hotel has the perfect balance of elegance, comfort, friendliness,professionalism, and superb food. We loved the views and the very welcoming people of Brides les Bains. We look forward to going back soon.
