“Great place to stay, right by gondola, great family!”
Reviewed December 24, 2013

We loved staying at the Hotel Les Chalets - the family that owns this place is so nice and accommodating and sweet. It is fully family run, and they speak really good english which made things really easy for us Americans!

The place had very clean rooms, ours overlooked the pool (frozen over in the winter) and the bathroom had recently been remodeled with a nice towel warmer rack and modern features in the bathroom.

The breakfast in the morning was great, very nice spread! And they even have a cute little bar that is "always open" for a night cap if you want. They also have a restaurant in an adorable setting, although we didn't get to try it out since we were busy both nights of our stay.

Great location, great family, very clean nice ambiance with a fireplace in the lobby, and a spacious game room. Overall would definitely recommend this place again!

I am a total stranger to the French Alps, and I am glad I was introduced to the region by the Owners Aude and Boris and their excellent staff: Sylvaine and Silvia at the Dining Room, Christophe the Chef who will try to please your palates, hardworking Habiba who is everywhere and Framboise who is at the Reception.
The hotel is a family owned establishment, Aude's father acquiring the already present hotel in 1979 and now managed by Aude and Boris (who have 3 year old twins)
The most outstanding feature of the place is the friendliness of the staff (Make sure you have either Sylvaine or Sylvia in the Dining Room). As a Cultural Anthropologist I enjoyed observing and listening to the various guests and their comments. After dinner each night at the terrace surrounded by mountains, a very genial time is to be had. Almost all the guests were French and they all tried to make me feel comfortable, with my limited French. Met some excellent characters who would remain friends.
The hotel and the Kitchen caters to people who are here to loose weight, Spa and other activities are available. There is WiFi, the strongest signals are in the Ground floor reception areas but there is reception all through the hotel including the rooms. There is a swimming pool

Room Tip: Let them know if you have children so that appropriate rooms can be selected. The hotel in general i...

Fantastic Experience!!! The best hotel I have ever been to. In fact, it felt as being at home and I was in tears leaving the hotel and my new found family. Originally, I was booked for two weeks but after only two days I extended my stay for a third week (the maximum I could afford away from home). Location is wonderful, the staff was just amazing and very helpful, and the facilities were superb. I was traveling with my young son (seven years old) and the staff went way out of their way to entertain him and to give the space and opportunity to have the full benefit of the retreat. I always thought you should decide where you want to go and then book a convenient hotel, but after my experience in "Les Chalets" I found out it is the hotel that make all the difference if you are going for a retreat like "Brides les Bains". I left part of my heart back there – will be going back repeatedly.

This was our third stay inn the Hotel Les Chalets. Aude & Boris the proprietors of Hotel les Chalets are always happy to facilitate our needs. The rooms are clean and comfortable, food is good, very good value. The gondola takes about 35 mins to Meribel, however, when conditions are good you can ski to other mid stations in the evening.

We arrived just as a school party (around 50) was about to eat supper so this must have been the toughest time for the hotel. The staff were lovely and very helpful but not always easy to find! Our family room was clean and adequate. Dinner was good although breakfast was rather less so. Altogether this was good. If you are staying in Brides to get the gondola to Meribel then this is very well located too.

This is our 6th return to this hotel and it is exceptional in everyway. The staff are excellent, the food is great and suitable for the end of busy days skiing. The Hoteliers Boris and Aude cant do enough for you and are helpful and approachable with any problems and concerns you have. The hotel feels more on a personal level and as a school we do not feel that we are going to stay in a hotel, but someone large house where we are looked after year after year. I would recommend this hotel for group/school bookings, but also for keen skiers which will get housed and feed well on the door step of some exceptional skiing. We will definitly come back and would recommend this hotel to any school ski trip leaders. Thanks again Hotel Les Chalet from the Castle School, Taunton, Somerset.

Can really say that there is anything good about this hotel (more of a hostel) the worst hotel i have ever stayed in. The room are to a very poor standard, the beds fell to bit when you lay on them, the beds came with one very thin sheet of bedding and we stayed in the winter time, when we asked for another quilt on two seperate occasions there was still no futher quilts supplied by the hotel. The bathoom had no toilet seat and the shower was covered in limescale, we had a balcony view of a rubbish tip and a set of broking tables and chairs. The food was horrible, i would even feed it to my dog. The breakfast table in the morining was covered in ants, the staff who worked at the hotel lacked motivation when serving food morining and night. The was no night time entertainment and the hotel smelt. I would not recommend this hotel to any one, it may look good in the photos but take my advice it lacked in many parts. Save your money and book somewhere else!!
