What a relaxing place! Friendly owners and staff, helpful. Clean and tasteful furnished.
Dinner is also very recommendable. A very quit place and a good base for trips to Mt. Ventoux, Vaison-La-Romaine or Nyons. Nicde swimming pool as well We stayed for two nights and we will come again to stay longer...

A totally lovely mas, well run by a charming couple, and an efficient staff. It's way up a one lane road in the vineyards (a GPS is helpful if you are driving), so it's quiet. Very pretty rooms, decorated in Provencal wallpaper, bed coverings, etc. A nice pool, and the breakfasts and dinners are simply splendid. We felt, in fact, that the dinners here (which you can add optionally as a "demi pension" for a very reasonable rate), were better in quality than the neighboring restaurants in the region: unpretentious, but fabulous.

No other American tourists, but lots of French tourists, so they obviously know what's good.

Considering also the reasonable price, especially for a demi pension, including breakfast and dinner, this place is unbeatable. And, it's just a few miles from Vaison La Romaine, with its terrific Roman ruins, and other picturesque villages of the Vauclose, such as Seguret. If you are into Cotes Du Rhone wines, they have a nice selection. You can have a good bottle of wine with your dinner for less than 20 Euros. Try a glass of sweet Rasteau "ombre" for an aperitif or with dessert.

This was our second stop on our cycle tour of Provence. I chose this hotel because of it’s proximity to Vaison La Romaine, and le Beffroi was fully booked. I was extremely happy with this choice. The hotel is well run, the managers are lovely and very friendly, and very forgiving of my horrible attempt at speaking French! The room was clean and simple, with a large balcony that looked onto the gardens then onto Mount Ventoux. It could use with a little decorating TLC though, especially the bathroom, but it was clean. There was no AC in the room, which made sleeping uncomfortable and the bed was hard and lumpy. The hotel is situated on a large piece of land, with a swimming pool. It is a 15 minute walk up to le Crestet, which is a beautiful village, and worth a look. The breakfast was a typical French affair, with a large pot of very good coffee, pastries, bread, jams, cereal, cold meat and cheese and juices. And you eat outside in the sunshine looking onto the most beautiful view. The dinners were very good also, three courses on offer and they changed over the 3 nights we were there. The woman who is “in charge” of the restaurant is great, very personable and efficient and willing to get translations of menu items that were not in my French book! They also have a decent wine list, as expected in France. It was a fantastic find, I think it would be helpful to know some French or bring a good phrase book. Oh, there is free wi-fi, just get the WEP key from the front desk, and the desk also has hairdryers. It is not luxurious, but it is clean and friendly with good food and a great atmosphere. And for the price, you can’t beat it. I would definitely recommend it.

A few years back I picked this lovely little hotel just outside Vaison la Romaine for a two-week summer stay sight unseen and on the basis of a brief sentence in a travel guide that stuck in my mind – a little risky, perhaps, but as it turned out we had a memorably relaxing holiday. It’s a beautifully colourful place, decorated with taste, full of plants and flowers, snuggled into a hillside looking towards Mont Ventoux and surrounded by vineyards overflowing with tempting bunches of plump grapes. Breakfast and dinner were excellent, served on a terrace near the pool most of the time, although as a vegetarian I didn’t eat nearly as well as my wife – but that’s true all over France in my experience. For lunch I walked up a forest path to the beautiful wee village of Crestet to buy some cheese baguettes, and man, were they good, washed down on our balcony with a couple of cold beers. We didn’t do a lot of touristy stuff, just followed paths around in the woods or hiked to some of the nearby towns, but really we parked ourselves with books beside the tiny pool and enjoyed a wonderful rest. The owners are friendly and helpful and all in all we had a really fine time.
