the mountain can be reached ether by feet, or by bike, or by car... the only moment you have to be prepared - it is very cold on the top! but panorama is magnificient! landscapes are opened just beneath your feets. very nice!

“A cyclist's challenge”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 15, 2014

There are quite a few places from which to rent road bikes in Bedoin and Malaucene. I pre-booked with 'route de Ventoux' for my first ascent, but rented on the spot for the second. I started early to avoid the heat if the day in August (7am and 7:30), but it was a bit chilly on the way up. There is often a strong wind at the top and for the descent I wore a couple of extra shirts and on the second trip I cut the end out of a pair r of socks to make arm warmers. Despite this, I was very cold coming down.

A great sense of achievement a good view from the top. If you are in the area but not a cyclist, I think that it is worth it for the view and to see the bizarre landscape above the tree line.

“Amazing mountain to visit by bikers, motors and cars.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 14, 2014

Amazing mountain with an unpredictable character if it comes to weather on top of the mountain. The wind can easy be 7 Beaufort and temperature 12,5 Celsius even if it is in the valley [Bedoin] 25 Celsius and no wind. A must see if your in the Provence region

“Breathtaking”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 13, 2014

The Mont Ventoux is a definite site to check out if you’re in the vicinity within the Provence region and also if you’re a Tour de France fan. We did it by car and the drive was spectacular. You’re concentrating on the steepness of the mountain that you forget to look off to the side to see the stunning landscape…but once you do you can see why people love Provence so much. Along your drive you can watch the crazy cyclists and admire their determination to get up the mountain. I have so much respect for those who do it on the bike because it’s insane! Once you’re up on the mountain it can be a bit crowded and hard to find parking. When you’ve found a spot, take in the beautiful panorama of Provence and congratulate the cyclists you see who have finished.
