“Hidden little gem”

Kind of cool and funky with a seasonal menu that celebrates local products. Really enjoyable food, excellent service. Short but well thought out wine list.

“We got lucky, you don't need to.”
Reviewed October 31, 2012

We found this place on a rainy day out of sheer luck.

After a rainy drive up from Avignon we decided to stop for lunch. We avoided the main square and wandered a few streets back and found this place.

The food is excellent, very honest and has been a highlight of our trip so far.

I had a beautiful home made sausage on cabbage with puy lentils and a sweet mustard on the side. My wife is vegetarian and we found the waiter/chef to be very helpful with this. She had a really lovely dish of eggs poached in a delicious and not heavy at all red wine sauce. The eggs were perfectly cooked so the yolks were runny and when broken added to the lovely sauce ready for bread. It was served in an individual Le Creuset style baking dish.

He advised us of a lovely local organic wine to match these.

For dessert we shared a plate of three 'petite' tastes; creme brûlée, pear sorbet and a banana cream with espresso.

All up the bill for us was 43 Euro and we had great food served and cooked by someone with great passion. Enjoy it!

“Decent Food doesn't make up for the Rudest Service ever”
Reviewed July 22, 2012

First the good thing: the food is not bad at all. And they serve lots of different wines by the glass. At okay prices. So why do they spoil it all with the rudest service ever? The lady of the house sure dislikes her customers - to put it mildly. My Happiness will follow another path! (For non French speakers: this is a free translation of the restaurant name).

“Eat here!”
Reviewed June 21, 2012

A great small restaurant with excellent food and a huge and fairly priced wine selection. We started with an aperitif of one house white wine and one rose. Both were organic and sulfite free... and both were excellent! The menu was fresh, carefully thought out, and was obviously cooked by someone who cares about excellence. We asked the host to recommend a wine to pair with our meal and it was incredible. Go there! Eat there! Drink wine there!

“Fantastic "organic" restaurant”
Reviewed November 21, 2011

We visited with the proprietors of a local organic winery who we do business with. Xavier is clearly a passionate chef who believes in fine, healthy food. All ingredients are locally sourced organic. We started with a sensational pate, then we had confit duck which was equally fantastic. The best bit for us though was the excellent selection of local organic and natural wines which were very fairly priced. They have them priced up to take away for off sales, or for an extra 8 Euros a bottle you can enjoy them in the restaurant. The food and wine was excellent, as was the service. It's a very small, friendly restaurant where the emphasis is on culinary perfection rather than financial profit. I strongly recommend this place, great food and very fairly priced for Vaison (which is not cheap!).
