We've stayed in a lot of great little places in France but this one has to be close to the top of the list.

Laurent and Anne welcome you to their beautifully restored house on a large property just at the edge of the walking circuit into Vaison-la-Romaine. The rooms are comfortable and the breakfast was very good; overall the place offers exceptional value for money. But this couple also is as hospitable, welcoming and helpful as you will find anywhere. They helped us in innumerable ways, not just with great restaurant suggestions but also to lay out a detailed driving tour around Les Dentilles and the nearby towns and many other small issues we brought to them. Late one afternoon they laid out a wine and olive oil tasting for some of the guests. Our stay there was outstanding and we highly recommend Les Tilleuls d'Elisee to discerning value seeking travelers.

My husband and I (Americans who speak a little French) stayed here for four nights in May. This charming recently renovated farm house is situated on a large, quiet property--a mere five-minute walk from the town. Our spacious, clean room (with a generous bathroom) had a view of the Catherdral and Mont Ventoux in the distance. Our hosts, Anne and Laurant were delightful and willing to help in any way. Their list of restaurant recommendations is excellent. We enjoyed meeting the other guests in the communal dining room where a breakfast of croissants, fresh breads, yogurt and home-made jams is served daily. They even have a refrigerator for the guests to use; coffee and tea is available any time. The tables outside were a perfect place to relax with a glass of wine after a busy day touring the gorgeous sites of Provence. I would definitely return here.

Room Tip: Ask for a view of Mont Ventoux!

Everything we hoped it would be. On a generous prime property in a very complete town in direct view of the historic cathedral, the mountains and its own fruit and olive grove. A simple walk from town with restaurants, ruins, roman bridge and high village across the roman bridge. It is peaceful yet busy, and has everything. The host invited us to a wine tasting one evening where we learned all about Chateau-Neuf-de-Pape, Gigondas, and Seguret wines especially, which I think we really should have known something about before, but anyway now we know. The hosts jumped right in to build us fun itineraries, so we could make the most of our travel time.

The room was huge already, and we wanted to stay an extra night so they moved us to an even huger suite. Everything is super clean, super positive and practical, even the other guests were just so open an pleasant.

We are Americans who speak a little French. All the French national guests welcomed and included us, had fun with us - this family attracts a very kind and pleasant clientele.

Can't say enough nice about our experience here. Really enjoyed "The Lyrist" restaurant in particular in town - very original, modest talents hosts, good value.

Room Tip: We had two rooms and they were both great. I don't think there is a bad room as they all seem to have multiple views, and all views are good.

We recently stayed here for 2 nights and didn't want to leave! Our host Anne was charming and couldn't do enough for us. We arrived much earlier than usual check in time but were showed immediately to our delightful, comfortable and spotlessly clean room. Breakfast was delicious with the freshest of breads, croissants, home made jams and cake. We had unlimited access to the breakfast room every day to make tea or coffee and relax with a book from the bookshelves and a fridge was available to us if we wanted to buy local food for lunch or dinner. The grounds are a delightful place to relax with a glass of wine anytime. Truly the best hotel we encountered during our week in Provence and we can't wait to return. Thanks Anne.

Room Tip: All the rooms are beautiful.

My wife and I stayed at Les tilleuls d'elisee for two nights in March.

The location in Vaison La Romaine is ideal for touring the Cotes Du Rhone villages and wineries. VLR itself offers lots to see and several good restaurants.

The tilleuls itself was a wonderful old farm house with plenty of charm. We stayed in the figueriers room which was really two rooms - surely the best value accomodation on this trip. The breakfast was nice, with the homemade jams leaving a lasting impression.

Laurent's pride in his property and town and his warmth topped off the experience nicely.

I would sincerely recommend les tilleuls to anyone.
